Is there a way to back up a xbox one save game file NOT on cloud?

So I recently bought the game 7 days to die because it has couch co op, and my boyfriend has a couple weeks off work to recover from surgery so it's a rare game binging time. However, like some other games... it was released too soon while it has game breaking
bugs. This game is a crafting/survial zombie game meaning it has no end, you literally play to play the game and can sink countless hours into it. Unfortunately, until they release a patch (and its approved by Microsoft) in about 6-12 weeks... there is a known
problem across all platforms that will crash the game and corrupt your save file. If you're on the pc, you can back up a save file... if you're on ps4 you can back up a save file... however, if you're playing on xbox one, it "backs up" save files to cloud
and what happens with this game is it will back up your corrupted save file. The game is auto save... not intentional save... so you can be playing 20 hours... 50 hours... and suddenly, your game gets corrupted and it can no longer load. I'm looking for a
work around as we want to play but we've had 2 games become unplayable already (the bug is called building environment bug... when you try to load your saved game, it never loads you just sit endlessly in a loading screen).

I know from *** around that you can no longer back up save files on a usb or ehd with the xbox one. I did see, however, that you can copy the entire game. However, after chatting with an xbox support tech, he said this only copies the game (not save files)
so you can reinstall it faster if you have slow internet and need to reinstall the game... and the only back up of save files is through cloud (which obviously if you need to have a back up for this very reason, is completely useless as it backs up a corrupted
file). Microsoft did this to prevent something called "save tampering" where people made copies of save files on games with an autosave feature. My god.... WHO CARES if some kid found a way to go back in time if they didn't like something they did on GTA V....
now players in my situation are *** if they want their own save backups...

If you know of any work around to my problem, I would be forever grateful. On the support forum for the game, someone mentioned if you can unplug the xbox one from electrical outlet... then plug it back in, uninstall the game then reinstall the game and
it loads a saved game from cloud before it uploaded the corrupted saved game to cloud... that would work but that sounds like WAY too much work... I'm wondering if maybe I can disconnect my internet randomly and reconnect it when I want the game to save to
    cloud or something?

    TYTYTYTYTY for your help!

    :)

  2. Fallout 4 Cloud Save

So I accidentally deleted a save file, went ahead and deleted the local saves from the game and signed out of Live, signed back in and started up the game again.

When the Cloud save uploaded, the save file I had deleted was back, but the one I was playing was gone. No exit save either.

Is there a way to say, reload the cloud save from yesterday?

  3. A proper way to back up game save?

With the new dashboard update, you should not be able to back up your saves with Microsoft's new cloud service.

    Hey there Hollifox

I'm sorry your save has been corrupted once it has been corrupted there really isn't a work around.

At the moment the closes thing to saving to the HDD is playing offline but as soon as you re-connect to XBL you'll be prompt to sync the offline save or the one you used online you chose one and the other would be deleted.

So to summarize it no you can't have one save to the console and one to the cloud simultaneously.

You should have the option to not upload to the cloud but instead save to the HDD and remove the USB transfer option to prevent any "Modifications"

Thanks for your response! I'm assuming my corrupted save files are lost forever at this point. I am willing to start yet another game from scratch, but I want to play this time around with the knowledge I can control the backup save so a corrupted save file
doesn't automatically get backed up to my only back up source (cloud).

So, when does backing up take place on the cloud? Is this a timed sync? Like every 10 minutes? I'm wondering if I disconnect my internet and play offline, then reconnect the internet every so often it might sync to cloud only while online? Like maybe cloud
will only sync when I reconnect to XBL, so if the game crashes and becomes corrupted... maybe I could delete it off the HD, reinstall it - *then* reconnect the internet and let it sync with the slightly older save? Seems like a lot of work, but still much
less work than restarting a game from scratch more than 3 times...

You'll get a message that says 'Which one you want to use' you get this message when your console has newer or different locally saved data than what’s saved in the cloud, usually after you play offline. You’ll be given the choice of which saved data to
use, the locally saved or the cloud saved version (and you’ll be notified which is newer). Pick the “save” you want to use and continue.

So you can, play online for starting the save but you can play, offline and as soon as you re-connect, to the internet and launch the game you'll see the message while it syncs.

Borderlands 2 uploading Xbox 360 info

If you backed up the save file to a flash drive or the Cloud, you could boot up the Xbox 360 game on another console and use the in-game process to transfer it from there, but aside from that there's no way to export the file to the Xbox One version.

Accidentally deleted borderlands 2 save file from backwards compatible borderlands 2

If you originally had the save file on your Xbox 360 and you transferred it over to your Xbox One via Save Cloud then you should still be able to go to your Xbox 360 and just take the save file off the Save Cloud and then put it back in to the Save Cloud
so it appears on your Xbox One again, if you started to play the Backwards Comp. game with a new save file on the Xbox One then it should hopefully (not completely sure) but it should hopefully still have been copied over to your Xbox 360 Account on the Save
Cloud and just take it off and put it back into the Save Cloud again. If its not there then I'm sorry, but there is then no possible way to recover your save file.
