Recently I've been trying to use X.M.P in the bios because it makes me get a lot more frames in games and it makes my pc run smoother, only downside is that it sometimes crashes my games randomly with no warning, or just literally restarts my pc for some reason. With X.M.P off I get significantly less frames then I should and it limits my memory. Is there any fix to this?

This is a benchmark I ran with X.M.P turned off and my memory is significantly lower than it should with X.M.P on.

Yea I know it overclocks my memory, and I also know about my sub timings and all that but in bios is there like a way i can boost the speed of it with the timings without settings it to the max 3600 to maybe like 3200.

Well ya you do know you are overworking your memory right ?

Anytime you overclock anything you become more unstable

You shouldn't fiddle around with settings without knowing what you are doing

If you are following some Reddit you should ask them how to adjust your settings to their specs

One you wear down your memory faster and cause increased heat

If you overclock too much you cause issues

You can only overclock so much and also depends on the memory you use

Generic memory isn't really meant to overclock you want like cosairs or Kingstons

    That's the risk you take

    An example of this

Limiting your rampage file to 1.5x your amount of memory will reduce latency and increase performance however if you are running Adobe or gaming you will frequently hit page file limit and crash as your page file fills up and you run out of temporary memory

have you enabled xmp in your bios, you need to do this for the ram to be the correct speed, also have you updated the bios of the mainboard to the latest revision, these are pretty much essential.

Yes I have enabled XMP and have upgraded my BIOS version to F21, still no luck.

Unable to play any Microsoft PC games without getting error message.

You say you got a new system, did you use anything from the old system in the new one, i have seen that error before numerous times and 3 seperate times it was 3 seperate issues with cmr units.

1st was memory was not running in dual channel and causing the crash, fixed by configuring the sticks into the correct slots.

    2nd was faulty ram

3rd was actually a faulty ssd where the page file was causing corruption.

also on the new system have you enabled XMP profile in the bios.
