Is there a way i can make my account so people I'm not friends with can't send me messages?

I'm getting really fed up with being banned from xbox live services because someone messages me or invites me to a party and says, whatever they choose, its coming from people i don't know and they're just words and unfortunately like most on xbox apparently
I'm not a sensitive ball of fluff. Regardless, I'm tired of getting banned when I'm verbally "assaulted" and i retaliate and they simply press the report button and I of course, receive a ban. If there isn't a way to switch my account to where I don't receive
messages from people not on my friends list i will more than likely trade in my xbox for a ps4 because i have had nothing but issues with this console and its "community safety"

So, say I'm playing BO3 with my friends, and I'm wearing my headset with the mic on. Is there a way that I can talk, but not let people other than my friend hear me?

Hello xbox, I was playing cod with a few friends and were just playing around and one guy on my team took my kill and I was like why did you do that but in a joking way and he knew that and then I took his kill and he's like why did you do that in a mean
way for some reason and he said he was going to have a guy spam tweets out saying to send messages to my account non stop so xbox makes me create a new account. I feel very threatened by this and not sure if he's going to or not but I was wondering if there
is a way to make it so only people on my friend's list can send me messages so if he does, it wont mess uup my account in anyway, If you need his gt, I'll reply with it but not sure if I'm allowed to disclose his gt to public. Thanks in advanced

Yes this is possible you will need to change your privacy setting to Friends, head over to Sign in to your Microsoft account Scroll down and look for Others can communicate with voice, text,
or invites
