Is there a tutorial of any kind?

I recently played for the first time, and I had no idea what I was doing. There wasn't even anything that showed me what buttons to use, or how to play the game at all.

As soon as it loaded for the first time, I was on an island joined by a crew. Next thing I knew, I was in the brig. So I left that game and started a new one. This time I was with a friendly group of people, but I had no idea what they were doing or how
to help them out. I had to keep asking them to tell me what to do because I had never played before.

So is there a way to practice offline, or a tutorial of some kind that can help me get up to speed?

Tutorial World v Generating a world

Hi

I was just curious to know if there was any disadvantage playing on the tutorial world or if its better to Generate a new random world. Is there less or no components in the tutorial generated world for example. Spent a fair few hours in my tutorial world
and dont really want to start again at this point but then again wouldnt want to be missing out on anything.

Tutorial Skipped

I skipped the tutorial before I realized there was a medal associated with the tutorial. Is there a way to restart the tutorial to receive the medal? Thanks.

 

There is a small tutorial that shows you the very basics of the game like controls. But it does leave room for the fun of experimenting and figuring out the minute details.
