Is there a temporary hot fix for the xbox one mic?

i can hear people, but I can't talk. It's not muted. It's not a software issue. As far as I can tell this is a common problem. I was just wondering if anyone has come up with a temporary solution.

Temporary Fix For Multiplayer

It's this inconsistency that drives people crazy. Inigo uses join session "almost every time" and I still haven't seen join session once. Finally played online last night with a friend using the spam-stone method, but I had to go back to the title screen.
So I purposely looked for "join session" and it still wasn't available.

 

I have the same problem, have to use my Kinect for now store is kinda far away and its freezing here..

nothing but troubles since I got xbone and support don't give a hoot* about its cx.

I can hear but can't be heard on my mic.

At this point I have tried many things.

1-Different controller Mic worked on neither.

2-Made sure mute was not on, and mute me wasn't on on the party options

3-made numerous tests with the party option chcking the orange circle to see if it would turn on.

4-Heard it may have been a Kinect related issue(random suggestion from a member)

So, unplugged and reset xbone and unplugged the Kinect for long enough for the capacitors to

lose their charge, then reconnected everything and turned it back on.

(This also cause an issue which I had to repeat multiple time because Kinect wasn't turning on, but that is a separate issue)

5-Checked and tried all solution on the forums as suggested by support.

At this point I am assuming the accessory has broken somehow, and most likely this is the case for most of us. I am assuming that there is a part the connects the Mic that is separate from the speakers,

and somehow the wiring is coming loose. I would open it up and re-solder it, but that would void any warranty.

At this time I am wishing I had bought a ps4.

Numerous issues, and support that doesn't support.

Although to be fair, I bet it's just as bad with ps4.

 

I agree. PS4 seems like it would have been a better choice at this point. I bought my xbox one not long after launch so I payed $500 for a console that I've had to send back once, the disk tray is broken and I can't talk to people. I wish Microsoft cared
about their customers.

 

a temporary fix that some have mentioned and works for me. as long as your headset plays chat audio and your mute light comes on.

while in a chat(to test), confirm that your kinect "sees you" in the setting/kinect screen, while back at the home menu, go up to the top and click-on "brett the boss" button which is next to your notifications button at the top of the home menu, it should
bring up your gamertag selection menu, select "choose this person" which is you. this should reactivate your mic.

from what I've been able to test, it seems to be a comination of a couple of factors that can be in play. the kinect loses track of you holding the controller and switches off the mic to attempt to use the Kinect mic(even if you've turned off the "use kinect
for game chat"), the kinect at that point is having trouble "finding" you.

when I use my day1 controller(which I don't want to as I'd like to keep it as a collectors item), my kinect doesn't lose me. I can walk away to another room, walk back in and pick up my controller and the headset works fine now. doesn't matter if I walk
out with or without the controller.

when I use my now-older-than-90 days "new" controller, if I move more than like 6 inches my kinect will "lose" me. it cannot figure out that I am infact "" holding "'s controller". instead it sees me as "guest" holding "sleazus
fist's controller" and it mutes my mic. also if I walk away with my "new" controller and walk back into view of the kinect, it reactivates my mic but it sounds like I'm in a windstorm to my party mates.\

can't offer any more than that, don't know why and can't really explain it but it is frustrating to deal with as my "new" controller didn't start doing this until 4 months after I bought it which is out of the 90 day accessories warranty and MS will not
help at that point. also my XB1 is out of the 1 year warranty as it was a day1 edition, again they will not help outside of charge me $25 shipping for a "free" replacement headset which will not fix the problem.

 

I'm getting really frustrated, I'm going through each forum, video etc to try & find a fix for this issue.

I don't have the kinect with my xbox one however I have the problem that many seem to have (I can hear others in party but they can't hear me). It's incredibly infuriating especially when you need to work together to get a job done e.g heists on gta v.

I hope Microsoft can just acknowledge that their is an issue as there are tons of people complaining about this issue however there isn't an official fix. I understand there's quick (but temporary) fixes but the majority seem to be focused on owning the
kinect so where does that leave those without kinect?

Seriously considering switching to ps4 as this issue should have been acknowledged & fixed by now.

 

I agree it is very aggravating that a solution has not been found. When I spoke with Xbox Support they told me it was a firmware issue and the patch wouldn't help. They made it clear that we may be forced to go as long as another two weeks without a resolution.
I couldn't imagine it being an issue here for so long, and I guess I'm not the only one.

 

Mines went out Saturday I was in the party then I left the party and came back to the party I could hear everybody but they couldn't hear me. I switched my headsets to a new controller same thing happen. I bought a new headset from gamestop still doing the
same thing. Can someone please tell me what's going on. I'm getting frustrated message me if you know how to solve this problem. My gamer tag is thanks
