Is there a plan to support USB microphones on xbox series X?

Unfortunately there's no official Microsoft position about this right now. I think they will not change the standards for mics on the Series X. Maybe on a next gen console a few years from now.

Best bet only buy Xbox or any console specific stuff when buying stuff it takes away the guess work

If they do add support for USB microphones, I imagine it would be after the Series X launches.
