Is there a physical to digital game trade in program?

There is no program to trade in physical games to digital copies at the moment.

Hello DaddyMazz, unfortunately this type of program or partnership does not exist, if you have a disc on physical media but your console does not have DVD player will even have to acquire a digital version.

When it comes to the games they are the property of the developers, I do not know which game would like to make the exchange but can contact the developer to know if they have any such program.

Nothing I have ever heard of unfortunately. That is one of the reasons to pick up physical over digital games, you'll always be able to trade them if you don't care for them. That said, personally I buy digital because it saves a ton of space.

A digital trade program tho would be absolutely brilliant, you may want to reach out and make that suggestion you Microsoft!

Yeah, unfortunately I agree. I doubt Microsoft will give people digital versions if they have physical copies. There is no way for them to confirm it is your game. Also, what is their to stop people from getting a free digital copy, then giving the physical
game to a friend?

The only way I could see this happening is if they offered some kind of trade in program where you send them the physical game, and they give you a code, which could be problematic because of shipping.

I've always thought it'd be cool to have a physical to digital trade in program. You could send in your disc to MS and they would issue a digital license for your game.

I went digital this gen and I find myself buying fewer games. I only get stuff I know I'll like since I can't recoup any costs with digital. With this program, I could try new games out in physical form, and I like it, keep it as digital by sending it
in. This would also help bring down used game sales and allow people with slow internet connections or data caps to install the game and still go digital.
