    Is there a difference between the Xbox one app on the Surface pro VS Desktop?


    Hey Guys,

    I am running into a little dilemma and I'm not sure what to do about it.

    I have a surface pro 2 as well as a desktop and of course an Xbox One.

    I am running the Xbox one app with Windows 10 on both computers.

    The issue I am having is the settings in the Xbox One app. When comparing the two computers, the settings look different and specifically the one I need on my desktop is missing from the Xbox One app...But that same setting that is missing from my Desktop
    shows up just fine on the surface pro 2.

    The setting that I am referring to is Settings>Game DVR>Audio>"Record my microphone when I record game clips"

    The "Record my microphone when I record game clips" setting appears on the Surface Pro 2 version of the Xbox One app but does not Appear on my desktop Xbox One App.

    I have uninstalled the Xbox one app using Windows PowerShell and reinstalled it hoping this would fix the issue, but it did not.

    Why could this be? What can I do to resolve? Any ideas or suggestions?

    Transferring purchases between accounts?

    I have an Xbox live account with some credit on it. I would like to purchase some windows 10 apps but I'd like to purchase them on my surface pro 3, but my outlook account on my surface pro 3 is different. Can I transfer credit between my accounts or make
    a purchase on my Xbox account and access the app on my surface pro 3 account? Thanks

    How do I add entire genre to now playing in Xbox Music?

    I've just realised I misread the last part of your post, I thought this was Windows Phone and that the difference between our experiences was because I am running the WP8.1 Preview.

    I will need to find a way to check this on Windows 8 (Surface) as apparently there seems to be a difference. Which version of Windows 8 are you running? Windows 8 Pro or RT? (ie, is it a Surface RT, Surface Pro, Surface 2 or Surface Pro 2?) Have you updated
    to Windows 8.1 Update 1? If not, you can do this as a free update via the Windows Store.

    If you have an available update, you should do that and check in Xbox Music again to see if this feature is enabled.

    Are you saying you are trying to stream your Surface Pro 3's desktop to the Xbox One? I don't think that's an actual feature (yet?).

    Or do you mean vice versa? Like, you are trying to stream the Xbox One's screen to the Surface Pro 3 tablet? That should be possible with the Xbox app (that comes pre-installed by default with Windows 10).

    Please try to describe in detail what you are trying to do, and what steps you are taking to accomplish that.

    Same problem for me on one of my desktop machines.

    The only difference between the machines is one is Windows Home and the other is Windows Pro.

    The one with missing widgets and tabs is the Windows Pro machine.

    Are you on Windows Pro also? Maybe that is our problem?

    I'm using version 1.3.1509.1706 on a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 and the same thing is happening to me. I have the app on my regular desktop also (Windows 10) and it doesn't happen there.
