Is there a console ban on my xbox?

Trying to get into a xbox live party and gives me a error : your privacy settings prevent chat with some people , How do I fix this? Is the console on a ban or something else?

i have looked on my enforcements on all my accounts and there is no console ban on any of them

A device ban is different from an account suspension for info on the device bans check the link posted above

I have been banned since the 23rd of October and it won't let me apply for a case review

Is there a way to get my account on then but not my console cuz it's a permanent ban for my console and my account

You can check enforcement.xbox.com to see if you have a ban.

If that is not the case try this troubleshooting page

Hey Gamer,

I just saw your post and first, you should check to see if you have a ban on the enforcement site at Enforcement.xbox.com

Also just so you know, the enforcement team doesn't use the forums the only way to contact them is through that site, we can not assist with any enforcement actions if you do have one.

reply to this thread as answered if this is the reason for the error and mark it a verified answer and upvote it if you checked it out but this was not the cause of the error. I will do my best to get the solution of this problem for you. I'm an Xbox Ambassador

Hi everyone,

I recently received a xbox one console from a third party, I tried connecting it to my account and it says “this console is banned from xbox network”. Hardware on xbox is in tact and it hasn’t been tempered with, console was never opened. I would like to connect it to my account. My account is clean of any suspensions or bans, Is there a possibility to remove that ban from my console?

To be clear the console doesn't have to be opened to be banned to get a console ban, the original owner may have done something on Xbox Live, for example hate speech etc. Microsoft issued a temporary ban, the original owner didn't learn their lesson and kept on doing the same thing, the bans would hve been issued until finally they got a console ban.

Do any other users play on that xbox? Or was it recently purchased through a second-party?
It's possible that another player who has or had access was given an xbox a device ban by the Xbox Policy and Enforcement Team, and in that case you would have to purchase a new one to continue playing.

Unfortunately, the ban won't be lifted on the box even if the ownership of the it has changed. This site doesn't handle enforcement actions so we're unable to assist you with that.
