Is there a bug with the xbox one s detecting hdr10 ?

And now the "support chat" guy just hung up on me.... Loooovely

 

I have a LG uh6090 and I'm having the same issues regarding HDR. It worked the very first time but now it say HDR for watching movies, tv, and playing games is turned off. To turn it back on, back up and select allow HDR but when I go back it doesn't give
me the option to turn it on. I been trying to figure it out for about a week and I'm getting really frustrated.

 

As I mentioned in the other thread ....

I have seen people say for whatever reason the Video settings on the console decide to change so it's a matter of going through the process again

I've also seen a few say make sure the video settings on console are set to "Auto Detect" people seem to have more luck that way

Another thing to check is the TV settings. Make sure HDR/4K etc is all enabled. I know my son when he plays his PS4 all is ok but when going back to XB1S the video settings have changed again on TV. Bit of a pain but it's easy enough to enable right settings
on TV to get it working properly again

 

Figured it out! If you have a LG, enable the HDMI Deep Color on the HDMI port you have the XBox connected to. That fixed it for me.

 

That's the problem with mine. I have turned the feature on on my tv and it still won't allow me to select allow hdr for some reason.

you need HDR turned on both xbox and tv. not just 1.lol jeez

 

Also folks as I've posted before

Because a TV is HDR, it doesn't automatically mean it's HDR10. Best to phone your TVs support folks and double check.

If they confirm its HDR10 compatible then it's just a case of making sure the right settings on both console and TV are enabled.

Also check if your TV needs updating. I know certain Samsung models from 2015/16 were not HDR10 but with an update there were

Unfortunately if your TV isn't HDR10 ( could still be HDR ) then it won't be able to use all Xbox One Slim features, HDR10 gaming etc

To add to this every LG tv that has HDMI deep color doesn't mean it support hdr. The tv I had got from Wal-Mart has HDMI deep color and I was confused but then I went to Sam's club and they had the same exact tv that support hhdr for 270 dollars less.

 

if some1 spent 10 grand on a ks9800 i have a bridge to sell you. they go for around 3 grand

 

change bit rate to 10 and it should fix it it did for me

 

Everybody having this issue, I have a solution, or at least it was for me. Just play something that supports HDR. I played the Prometheus 4K bluray, and HDR clicked right on, settings than said supports HDR and all that good stuff. Hope this helps and saves

Just following on from this post. I've just purchased the Xbox One X and have a Samsung UES55KS8000 TV which DOES support HDR10. Same isue though, Xbox recognises 4K, but not HDR ! Has anyone actually resolved this issue, particualryl in regards to the
Samsung UE55KS8000?

All TV settings are correct, and XBox settings are shwing as correct to enable the recognition so can't understand as to why it should state no HDR support!
