Is there a bug with the xbox one s detecting hdr10 ?

I have a ks8000 and the 4k tv details is saying It doesnt support 4k 10bit at 24hz, 50z,60hz or that it supports hd10 video, when in fact it should . I've tried all the troubleshoots , idk if I contact Microsoft or samsung lol

Hdr washed out colors and dimmer during hdr content

I have the same issue, I have a Vizio P75C1 and the picture is dull and lifeless when hdr is on and hdr content is being played. Is this a hardware issue or just a firmware update is needed from the xbox one?

Does anyone have an xbox one s and a samsung UHD player? with hdr turn on with both? is the xbox one s the only one with hdr10 dullness issues?

Ive tried every setting there is and nothing improves the dull color when hdr10 is active. With hdr10 off the picture looks incredible.

 

What kind of 4K tv do I HAVE to have to watch 4K on Xbox one s?

The big one is HDR format. There are two Dolby Vision and HDR10. Xbox One S only supports HDR10 for now.

I have been working on this issue all day with several people at Microsoft and have not had any luck yet. My situation has been elevated and hopefully I will have a response soon. I have an LG OLED model OLED55B6P TV that is listed on the Reddit site as
a TV capable of viewing HDR10 Content. I have been on the phone with LG and they say my TV is operating fine. I have played with all the setting from auto detect to manually selecting HDMI and manually selecting options. Nothing will allow the Xbox to send
HDR10 content. HELP!

 

I have the new samsung ks9800 frikin 10 grand tv and the reddit says its compatible but i have the same issue. This needs to be fixed asap. No excuse for this.

 

Same issue with a Sony XBR43X800D. I specifically bought the Xbox One S and the Sony for HDR and now it's not even selectable in the settings. Needs a fix asap.

 

I do not have an HDR 4K set, but I do have a reg 4K set and I am having issues fighting with the settings to get it to just set the resolution to 4K. Any of you guys having this issue? When it finally does detect my 4K set the video/audio cuts out every
couple minutes with a black screen for a sec or two. Really frustrating.....

 

Make sure your TV has a HDR-10 not DolbyHDR . second in your (Display & Sound -> Input -> Advanced video settings) make sure you have TV-connection to Auto Detect and (Allow 4k box checked)

 

Posted already but having similar issue with an LG, my sky q box displays at 2160 @ 50hz in 10 bit with deep colour activated, same situation / port with 1 s and message clear but get a flicker ever 2 - 3 seconds. Am also being told to activate HDR but the
box is greyed out. Are you able to watch 4k content? MS has basically told me to contact the manufacturer, cant see what they could do but will try anyway.

 

Make sure that you Have HDR only Either on xbox either on TV , dont use on both of them , may causing problems . try to turn off HDR on TV first and enable it on xbox .

 

Experiencing a somewhat similar issue with 4K content playback on a Vizio M70-D3 (2016 running latest HDR10 fw).

Playback of The Martian HDR disc results in occasional video drop outs (audio keeps playing) or have to change inputs and come back to see anything. However, I'm also seeing periodic issues with YouTube 4K playback (just standard 4K). Became concerned
my new console might be defective, but after reading this I think it maybe just the device.

I've confirmed I'm using correct input (HDMI1), X1S setting are as advised and have tried multiple high-speed HDMI 4K certified cables (incl the included).

 

any one find a fix for this ?

 

Just throwing this out there, but are you all running through a receiver or direct HDMI to your sets.

My Onkyo receiver is not HDMI 2.0a and therefore my X1S only shows that it is a 4K set but all the other items are red when HDMI through it. If I go direct to the set (panasonic with recent HDR update) everything comes up roses and I have to use the optical
to my receiver.

 

Add me to the list of OLED E6 owners that has a screen full of red and yellow instead of green checks (except for the top one). Very frustrated, to say the least.
