Is there a block or defend button

In the game Ryse, there is a button that issues a block or parry command. There is also one in AC and Middle Earth.

In the brief time I played this game, I didn't see one. Just attack and roll commands.

Yea I know how to spot. I just read on the Battlelog forums that this is a known glitch.

Try not to spam the back button as it won't register, if you're having trouble spotting wait a 15-20 seconds then try again. I think it was put in to stop people just continually hitting back and spotting people by luck (which you can still do, but it isn't
as effective now).

 

I haven't played much, but I dont think so. I think this is one of those games where your gear and defensive ratings dictate whether or not, and to what to degree you get injured/knocked down.

 

I think there is a ability that blocks for a short amount of time if you are a warrior!

 

All classes have a block/evade option, but its not available by default. Have to level up to it.

You can block if you are a warrior. Get the "Shield Wall" ability. I tie it to RB personally and attack until I see the enemy telegraphing a move. Then I hold shield wall till they hit me. No damage and I gain guard instead. Then I go back to attacking.

Other classes have a stance that you toggle for parrying. My favorite is Shield Wall though because it's instant and feels like blocking in a fighting game like Street Fighter II style.
