Is the xbox one worth it to play offline

This is the 1st to a two part question, the other is asked in the correct form section.. i hope.So im a 360 owner without internet and while i understand that i do need the one time update before i can play games on the One, im still getting mixed reports
from friends who say playing the xbox one OFFline has too many glitches and annoyances to outweigh any fun. So my question is 'is the xbox one worth it to play offline'?

Hello,

It was hard to connect to xboxlive yesterday, but it may also be possible to have some trouble with our Internet provider, that's why I would like to know if it is possible to play without being online ?

I bought the game 2 days ago, I don't know if the updates are completely downloaded. It works well if I am connected, but it's impossible to play if no profil is connected.

(same troubles with fifa2015)

I have never played directly on-line but have had this XBox One and Forza connected while single game playing, since day 1

Then yesterday happened and I have been able to play Horizon2 off-line, yes.

I disconnected the Ethernet cable, and in the Console's settings menu under networking, turn it to Off-Line. With the hard disc inserted in console.

Then start game, it will still go thru the steps of trying to connect but the game should start without connecting.

When reconnecting to internet this morning, the game took for ever to load. It connected to server no problem thou. Had to do a full re-boot and then all was well again.

 

It is worth playing but you might not enjoy playing offline as much as you do online its not glitches offline but its your choice.

 

Xbox One is really made to be online. It'll be fine to play offline, but you won't get many apps and can't play DVDs/Blu Rays until you download that app.

 

As it sits, you can play most games offline comfortably if you have the disc, but you won't be able to get digital-only games like a lot of the newer ID@Xbox games, ports, or any apps on the marketplace. I haven't noticed any glitches or inconsistencies
when I've played offline, but I'm sure there are some people have had problems.

 

I think it's a matter of setting your console up correctly the first time before you decide to disconnect it. You need to make sure you have all the pertinent system updates, you have your profile downloaded, your password saved to the console, and the
console set to sign you in automatically when you turn the system on. If you line up all these things, then most of your issues are going to be proactively taken care of.

Now you will need to still go in and do basic maintenance from time to time and scan your HDD and empty your system cache, but other than that, you should be alright.
