  1. Is the Xbox One prone to network problems?

Along with a couple of friends, I recently picked up the Xbox One (sans kinect). First couple of days we played together, there were no chat problems, but last night in both Forza 5, Dead Rising 3, and just party chat, we ran into a lot of issues not being
able to hear each other. A quick Google search showed that those network problems aren't new. Just wondering if this is a recurring thing, and whether there's any current fixes that people recommend.

    Thanks!

    :)

It's been a while since I chatted online, when Me and a friend used to private/party chat, we had to start the chat at the home screen, If we started it in game we had the same problems as you are having.

I can't say I've had any issues like this. That isn't to say it doesn't happen but I wouldn't say the system is prone to it.

  6. I'm not sure what's causing it...maybe it's a NAT issue.

  7. You can check your connection quality in the Settings --> Network menu. Multiplayer connection and Xbox Live connection will tell you if there are any issues.

There are issues some times on the Xbox One with people not putting out any audio. And there were issues on the 360 of people not being able to connect to parties at all. That's technology. It happens.

I used to have this problem a lot. What I figured out was, that when I powered on the X1, the controller would not be in the line of sight with the Kinect (I understand you do not have one.). The solution was as simple as selecting "Choose This Person" again
to get the mic and headset working again.

Now I just make sure that, when powering up, the controller is in front of the Kinect.

    Peace, J.R.

I've been on Xbox live for over 7 years and can safely say that network problems are very, very rare.

  12. If what D33dles is saying does have an impact... it might help resolve the problem if you choose auto sign in for your profile and make sure you turn on your console using the controller (as opposed to using the console's power button if you do that). Worth
    a try at least.

Actually, what I find works the best is before joining a party with someone else, start up a party by yourself and make sure the little green circle is lighting up when you talk. After that you should be clear for party chat.

Did you start the party from the home screen or in game? Everyone has to be at the home screen, not just one person.
