Is the Nintendo Switch pro controller USB-C cable compatible with an xbox series x controller?

as far as I'm aware the cable is just a USB-C cable and I think I have used both the USB-C cable that came with the Switch and the one that came with a battery pack for the new Xbox controllers with both Xbox and Switch controller to charge the controllers and didn't experience any issues. I haven't used them to connect to the PC, but I myself would doubt that it could cause issues. I would remove any standard batteries when using a cable though, but don't think that would break a controller.

I see I just wanted to make sure standard usb-c don't have different specs for different devices, I guess I was just unlucky with that one controller

If you need another USB C cable that is compatible with data transfers, make sure it says something like 'Sync and charge'. All USB C cables that support data transfer can be used on Xbox Series X|S controllers.

Xbox One accessories and peripherals will be compatible with Xbox Series X. As to whether the rechargeable battery packs are compatible with an Xbox Series X controller, that has not yet been revealed at this time, to my knowledge. However, the new controller
will use USB-C for its charging port instead of the Play & Charge Kit's Micro-USB plug.
