Is the fan on new Xbox One consoles much more noisy than old consoles?

I noticed that the fan on the new Xbox One consoles makes a lot more noise than the old consoles. Am I the only one that is experiencing this? My old Xbox One is dead silence, but the fan on every new console sounds like a bird when you are close to it.

Has the Xbox One "Fan" issue calmed down?

It is quite normal to be able to hear the fan from 2-3 feet away.

That is actually quite close to the console.

No console this powerful can be silent.

I have 4 games consoles and not one is silent.

My 360 is noisy as hell.

My ps4 is noisy

My ps3 is noisy

and so is my xbox one.

My ps4 is a lot louder than my xbox one and I can easily hear them both from more than 3 foot away.

 

Fans run at full speed, even while on the dashboard

Was this a sudden change? Or a gradual change? As the older consoles age, the fans can tend to get a bit more noisy, especially if they've been used a lot; not unlike an older PC's fans.

 

This isn't right, mine was dead silent then was playing last Sunday (after October update) and now its really loud. No matter what I do, sit on dash, play a game or app you can hear it and its quite off putting. Quite high in pitch also.

I spoke to support and they said that its not right and ive just sent mine off to them to swap for a new one. So fingers crossed the new one will be as quiet as a mouse like it use to be.

 

my household has 3 different xbox ones. a day one, then another purchased last march and then last 1 last month. all 3 of my xbox's are quiet.

 

Thanks. Pretty boring to be stuck without a console for weeks though.

 

If your Console is loud make the volume oft TV louder ^^ no just a joke..

If you expirience Problems or loud console I suggest you guys to do a Hard Reboot (Full Power Cycle)

for that: 1.Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will power down. Wait until power supply light turns orange (after 30seconds), Unplug from electricity for 60 seconds, TRY
AGAIN.

this will resolve the most Problems...

 

I did a Full Power Cycle and it didn't change a thing, also just left in on dash for about 20 mins and still it isn't working right. Any way ive sent if off to get a new one so lets see what happens when i get hold of it and plug it in.

 

Same after the updates I believe, I can know hear the fan around 8 Times louder than what it once was and hear a faint scratching IE a hard drive or something buzzing near the fan.
