    Is the controller's USB port supposed to be like this?

    I got an Xbox One controller yesterday for my PC and all seemed to be fine (once I'd managed to get the adaptor working and the controller on) except for the controller's USB port. It looked a little crooked, but not by much. I plugged in the USB cable to
    check the port was good and it held quite well. I could dangle the controller with it. I tried it again several hours later and noticed the cable doesn't seem to go in evenly or completely. You can wiggle the cable a lot when it's plugged in, it seems to tilt
    to one side slightly because it hits something in the port on the other and it doesn't seem to go in all the way (there's a lot of the metal part of the connector still sticking out of the controller when you plug in. The PS4 controller on the other hand goes
    almost all the way in so you virtually can't see the metal part of the cable, the plastic part of the cable lines up parallel with the controller like it should and the connection grips like a vice whereas the One controller is a lot easier to unplug.

    How far in should the cable go? How strongly does it hold, why am I able to wiggle the cable so much like it's loose and why does it not appear to be 100% straight? The controller works, just concerned about that port

    :)

    Xbox 360 controller not working on Windows 8

    I noticed that in Devices and Printers, the controller's right-click menu had a Troubleshoot option. I tried it, and got a message:

    "Xbox 360 Wireless Controller via Play & Charge Kit is an older USB device and might not work with USB 3.0. Plug the device into an available USB 2.0 port, and click Next. Otherwise, click Cancel."

    I thought USB 3.0 was supposed to be strictly better than 2.0, including backward compatibility. That's (part of) why I bought a laptop with only USB 3.0 ports. Looking on Amazon, there doesn't seem to even be a USB 3.0 version of the Play & Charge Kit;
    or even a generic USB 2.0 to 3.0 adapter.

    Xbox one controller for PC

    On the controller's end, you have the micro USB cable plugged into the actual controller itself, as opposed to the micro USB port for the recharge kit battery, right?

    It's the same port.

    I don't get this post yes it might be broken but it still works meaning you're not likely to spend more money to replace it or go without it for a few weeks getting it repaired. I would wait til it stops working then replace it

    If you are using the wireless adapter I really wouldn't worry about it.

    I'd take it back and get another. If the new one is crooked than you at least know that's the way it is or you'll get one that's perfect.

    I got a new one sent out to me and sent the old one back. Its replacement has no issues. The blue one though developed a loose panel

    EDIT: How do I change my signature, that stuff is old as time
