    Is the Charge and Play cable actually a USB cable?


    Just wondering as it looks like a USB cable, acts like a USB cable but does not actually have the USB logo on it?

    I think the logo is optional and if it is on a plug it has to be on the "top" where there is the Xbox logo in the A end and the LED on the B end so maybe it's just not there by choice or maybe it's not an "official" USB cable and don't follow the USB specification.

    is the cable that connects the Xbox play & charge kit- official version (battery+cord). Is the charge cable a simple usb to micro usb cable? Thanks for help.

    Hi

    The Play and charge cable is pretty much just a very long standard USB cable but with the addition of a little charging indicator light at the Micro USB end of the cable that confirms when the play and charge battery is fully charged.

    Yes it is normal micro USB lead just like the one used to charge phones just longer with a charging indicator light on it.

    How many of these USB C cables do you have or have you tried? Frustratingly, not all USB type C cables are actually capable of sending and receiving data. These cables you've tried may only be charging cables.

    the plug n play charge battery is the same for both, it is the charging cable that is different. the series x version comes with a USB C cable and the standard xbox one comes with a micro usb cable.

    i couldnt get the usb c version for my series controller so i just bought the xbox one version and use a third party usb c cable for charging.

    The Play and Charge cable isn't meant to be used as a Micro USB cable... That's your problem. You'll have to use a Micro USB cable to update the controller(s)

    I also have a problem with it not charging correctly while playing with a low battery so I can't help you there.
