Is the Asus TUF VG2791R compatible with 1920x1080p @ 120Hz for Xbox Series S

As noted from the above, it is not listed as working with the Series X, so will be the same with the Series S

It's difficult to find an exact answer on this one as I can only find limited information on that monitor. A lot of monitors have a lower native refresh rate and then boost it to 144Hz using the Variable Refresh rate (VRR)....this is fine for a PC where it can adjust accordingly. The Xbox is different as, to run 120Hz, the monitor needs a specific 120Hz setting...if it's using VRR to go over 100Hz, then it won't have that exact setting.

To add to that, most monitors need a DisplayPort connection to reach 144Hz and that isn't possible with the Xbox (only has HDMI)

You could always contact Asus to double check:

That is the contact details for the UK so you may need to change the region to display local details if you aren't in the UK (the bit is in the bottom right of the page)

    I think I messed up

The TUF Gaming VG27AQ 27-inch monitor is one of the impressive builds from the ASUS line-up. It has a native refresh rate of 144Hz and a maximum refresh rate of 165Hz. The device is powered by FreeSync and is G-Sync (NVIDIA Certified) compatible. The device offers a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1440 and offers wider viewing angles.

even in the manual it stated adaptive sync which is usually both, the reason they are showing with gsync is that its on the nvidia approved list, but apparently it has all.

also some people chatting about how to set it up for series x

    LG Oled and Series S

Well no the xbox series s isn't capable of 4k 120hz video games it's not even capable of 4k 60hz

    That's the series x

The best the series s can do is 1440p

The reason why you aren't getting any signal is because the series s isn't capable of it

    Only in streaming not gaming

This is the offical.ms.papers on series s

    https://www.xbox.com/en-CA/consoles/xbox-series-s

As noted it's only capable of 120hz on 1440p in games and 4,k 120hz on streaming

Not a lot of games support 4k 120hz even on xbox series x

Even on backwards compatibility games it's a max of 60fps with yakuza running at 900 frames

You gotta remember it's upscaled not native

Hence the lesser space requirements for series s

Redeeming Gift Code but get a "Georestricted error"

It's a physical Xbox gamepass card (there's 2) sold with the Asus Tuf Gaming.
