    Is quality of video from Digital TV tuner through Xbox the same as direct connection for UHD ...


    it's very difficult for me to find a channel where I can do a consistent comparative test to get an answer to my question.

    I'm hoping someone here might be able to help me with some information.

    I have a small Motorola udta100 digital tuner from Time Warner Cable. I've connected it via HDMI to Xbox one, although unfortunately, Xbox one cannot control the Digital tuner channels even though it's in ther list. Xbox one however does control my television
    fine so I get a lot of benefit there.

    So i'm not really sure in terms of video quality of there really isn't a lot of value whether the Motorola digital tv tuner goes through Xbox one to my TV set or plug the Motorola digital Tv tuner directly to the TV set itself.

    So my question is. whether the quality of the video is better, same or worse when watching Live TV if I connect the Motorola digital Tv tuner directly to the TV versus going through the Xbox one.

    Wow this is what Xbox One S needed to be from launch!!!!

    Direct from Xbox video store 4K UHD movies available for digital rental or purchase from the xbox video store. Xbox One S has zero options for the overwhelming majority of people who just want to rent a new 4K UHD movie and preferably download it to the
    hard drive, then watch sonetime in the next 30 days-like PS3 video store and Xbox video store works. This is an ultra hd console with access to not even the basic digital purchase apps for uhd movies, like Vudu or Mgo. A broader 4K video store is needed
    with access to every 4K title available now on UHD Blu-ray. Im really dissappointed in a console that was marketed as 4K, yet has no availability to rent nor buy 4K content beyond what my 4K tv apps alreadt do/have access to.

    GIVE ME 4K RENTALS VIA A DOWNLOAD OPTION. Look to the PS3 for gow to rent new movies on a streaming or downloadable basis. Xbox One S# Let Down Again

    I have two problems

    • My Xbox Remote control doesn't seem to work for volume control. Changing channels works and the other buttons like play pause and RR FF. Yes I went through the setup process.
    • All the settings to control my TV through Xbox don't work. I used to be able to turn on my tv via the xbox. Also, when the xbox turned off, so did the TV.
    Is there some sort of Xbox One S setup guide for 4K TV's? I went to "Advanced Video Settings" -> "$K TV details" and the only thing it says is"Your TV supports 4K UHD (60Hz).

    For Watching TV's or Movies and Playing games it says my TV doesn't support:

    • 4k 10-bit at 24Hz
    • 4K at 50Hz
    • 4k 10-bit at 60Hz
    • HDR10 for video
    • 4K 10-bit at 60Hz for playing games
    • HDR10 for gaming

    USB Digital TV Tuner no longer finds any channels after disconnecting, reconnecting and rescanning

    This may be irrelevant, but I have a question about the TV tuner. I understand that you plug the tuner into the XB1 through USB, not HDMI. I have an Xbox 360 hooked up to my XB1 through the HDMI-in port. In order to play 360 games, I have to use the TV app,
    and the TV tuner uses the TV app as well in order to work. I also understand that when you plug in the TV tuner, the OneGuide separates the TV tuner channels from the "HDMI content". My question is this: if I have a TV tuner with a coax cable connected through
    the XB1's USB port AND an Xbox 360 connected through the XB1'S HDMI-in port (both at the same time), can I switch between my Xbox 360 and my TV tuner when using the TV app? Thanks for the help!

    Hi Don,

    Unfortunately I don't think that is a compatible set up for Live TV on the Xbox One because Video output or input is through HDMI so the Xbox will not be able to get any video without an HDMI output from a cable box or if you have the official Xbox One USB
    TV Tuner. There is no way to input the built in tuner's details manually to get a picture through IR, it must be through HDMI or the Xbox USB TV Tuner.

    The support articles I provided before states all of that information and also describes the best way to connect home theater systems and unfortunately IR video output is not possible on the Xbox.

    The digital TV tuner is for freeview, not free sat. You need to connect it to a terrestrial antenna.

    DVB-C is for cable, not freesat

    ============

    It has a freesat option through the tuner.

    I'm getting the same as LGB tho. Did anyone find a solution for this?

    Xbox one Digital tuner - poor signal

    Experiencing the same. TV signal is very good with its own dedicated roof mounted aerial. Direct to tv signal is rdl steady but am experiencing intermitent interfernce very couple of minutes using the digital TV tuner which is a real pain making the tuner
    almost useless.

    my tv outputs the video audio via hdmi to the av receiver via Panasonics ARC connection , ive tried connecting the ARC HDMI out from tv to xbox in but it still cant see the video feed ? would this possibly be a driver issue within the xbox ? I have reported
    the issue on the xbox insider program but have had no feedback as yet .

    would it be possible to manually add the tuner as a Panasonic tuner within the set up ? or is it just simply impossible without an external tuner or Microsoft usb tv tuner ?
