    is only minor difference between alpha and omega?


    So I had a look at some release notes for the current build 2011 201209-3330.

    Alpha got this first, only a few hours later beta got it, then about half a day later delta got it, and then a few hours after that omega got it.

    If the build number is the same, is it feature parity, or do they turn off features on the more conservative testing groups.

    So e.g. is the current omega the same as the current alpha (same build numbers).

    The new update is only out for some Alpha & Alpha skip ahead insiders at the moment.

    If you're in the Omega ring then you'll probably be the last ring to get the update before it's released to everyone.

    The Chromium browser was previously only available for members in the Alpha Skip-Ahead ring, but as of the last couple of days, it's not only been rolled out to Alpha members, but also Beta and Delta members. Only the Omega rings have yet to receive it.

    If you're an Xbox Insider then you will get more updates as compared to others. Even as an insider there are 4 different rings - alpha, beta, delta and omega. Being in alpha ring will result in a lot of updates, and number of updates goes down as you reduce
    your level.

    If you do not want frequent updates you can unenroll from the program.
