Is now the time to get an XB1?

think my main concern is knowing that I WILL get a dodgy console if I buy one, my console luck this gen is pretty awful (at the start I got an xb1 which was broke out the box, got a new one which to me was loud when its ment to be silent. at this point I
gave up and got a ps4.. im now on my 8th ps4 some broke but mostly fan noise (current still abit noise at times) but it maybe because im picky and sensitive to fan noise but it seems I can't get a break with the new console's) so im twiddling my thumbs thinking
shell I just get one then all I keep reading is how this and that happens then you need to do a hard reboot etc etc, I just know if I buy the console something will be up with it.

I believe it , when some people say they have problems with their console, I think they are unlucky , and I wouldn't let it put you off buying an Xb1.

8 PS4's? Yeah I can safely say the X1 is dead silent, I have the day one console and apart from what I've already stated, it runs fine..... Just try and think positive lol.

it's time when you think it's time. We can't tell you when that time is, because we all have different opinions. I really think 2015 is going to be the year I get the Xbox One finally, because I feel it's only getting better.

Unless there is something you are dying to play right now I think I'd wait until this fall. MS will probably have another bundle to try and catch up in sales, and then there is the inevitable Halo 5 themed console that will hopefully be announced, then there
are the exclusives coming out this fall on top of that. Other than my Kinect dying, a hard reset now and then, and my wife hogging it I haven't had any problems.

I've posted many times that I haven't had any console that hasn't had a few niggles along the way but overall my time with the XB1 has been brilliant, very few issues.

I 100% believe that there's others like we've seen post on these forums that have a lot more issues, it's a puzzling one for sure but I also 100% believe that if it was a huge/widespread issue we would hear a lot more about it.

So, from 'my' own experience ( and it has the games you want ) then I'd say stop reading this and go get it now

I've got a day one console, I've not had a major problem with the console itself, but I do find the UI laggy, although I do wonder how much of that is down to poor internet.

I have had a dodgy pad too which Microsoft swapped out no problems at all.

Honestly if you sit there worrying about getting a dodgy console you'll never end up buying it, just take the plunge and if you do have problems address them as they occur.

I have both, on both games crash much more often but boths games are ran in Virtual machine they both just crash back to OS. Install from disc on the X1 is much worse since it doesnt
have a arm co-processor to install the game while playing

Day one and it's still ok, However I have had 1 or 2 unusually slow startups. The inside of my day 1 controller is still clearly visible.

If you want honest well semi honest info just use Google and avoid official brand specific forums. Or you could just buy the store warranty and relax.

Luck has nothing whatsoever to do with the manufacturing process. Quality quality control methods backed up by the best guarantee in the industry does. And you're likely to find neither of the two in the gaming industry. Even games sold these days are sold
with issues that the devs knew beforehand. Their QC methods seem to be. "Sell, sell, sell. We'll patch it sometime in the not too distant future... Um. Hopefully!"

OP my advise. Vote with your $ and WAIT till the quality goes in before the name (Microsoft, EA, Sony, etc etc) even goes on. Which, at least in my opinion, is the most effective way to get corporations to effectively change THEIR... Bad habits.

I would look at the complaints on the forums as being the minority, if people are having problems they would go to the internet to complain or find a solution, that doesn't really happen with people who are not having issues.

My experience since day one using instant on is very positive, I rarely have any issues nowadays, the amount of times my console has frozen since launch is less than 5, I have to do a hard reset once every few weeks from chat issues normally, which has been
even less since the resent updates.

But don't look for problems, look at the games to make up your mind.

There are just as many (like me) and probably an even greater number of users who have zero problems with the One. People who don't have issues are less likely to post as there is no need to.
