Is my Xbox Scratching my disks? If so whats the cause?

Hi there. I'm just wondering what would cause an Xbox to start putting light Hairline scratches on disks as I brought a perfect copy of WWE13 today. Apon please for a couple hours I noticed the disk was caked In hairline scratches. Now keep in mind I keep
my console In a upright position. However I haven't knocked my console or anything. Just want to know what the issue could be. My console Is a Jasper Elite If that helps. Any Advice would be great.

My Xbox Is scratching my Disks

The number is 1-800-4MY-XBOX. However, I'm not sure what they will be able to do for you. Quick question. Is your xbox standing up or laying down? If it is standing up, I would suggest laying it down as it is less likely to move/vibrate while on when
laying down and therefore less likely to scratch your discs.

Hello SuperUKHDelite,

I've had this happen to me as well. I've found that you are less likely to encounter scratched game discs if you use your console in the horizontal position, as well as installing the main games you play to your hard drive. I've heard it's also helpful
to remove your game discs from your Xbox if you won't be playing them for a while, but plan to let's say watch Netflix or Youtube for a day or two. Hopefully some of these ideas may help what you're encountering. Good luck!

Sometimes it can be caused by the Xbox being on a not flat surface (slightly leaning to one side) and causes the disc to vibrate a little which in turn can cause some of those hair line scratches. Most of which can be wiped off with a bit of care.

Try laying the console horizontal if you can and see if that helps.

Xbox 360s scratch discs no matter which way your console is positioned, but the best way to ensure as little scratches as possible is by placing the console in a horizontal position. My Skyrim disc is scratched up pretty good and I bought it brand new, same
can be said for a lot of my games. My 360 has always been in a horizontal position.

Compared to the previous comments, check all your disks to make sure there are no scratches on it. That's what usually cause my problems. Delete a couple of unused things you have. Feel me?
