Is my Xbox One defective?

@Your Dead McFly I wasn't able to connect with an Ethernet cable, but I upgraded my modem/router from the Gateway Comcast gave me, and it fixed all my problems. I think the Xbox One's drivers just don't work well with Comcast's gateway. Put all of
my issues have been erased and my netflix and other apps run alot faster... this was the experience I was looking for when I bout my Xbox One.

 

Ok kinda freaking out here.

Sometimes my drive does not read the disk, no big deal after a couple tries it works.

Today I put in Titanfall and disk would not read, tried again and you could hear a funny noise followed by a grinding sound. Took three times to eject. Tried again and same thing.

I decided to do a hard boot and this time it played with no issue. I am hard wired no wifi. Is this the start of a defective disk drive?

Im having the exact problem here now, im calling Microsoft tomorrow. At first my disc's weren't reading so I kind of let it go like eh still can play the game just eject and put it back in. than my xbox record or any commands weren't working which is very
frustrating when you have to say it more than once during game play. Tonight as I get home, screen is just black. Light turns on but screen is black. So I hold the button ten seconds turn it back on. shows xbox one screen than black screen again. so I shut
it down by holding down the button ten seconds, then unplugged. Still the problem I am angry to say the least as I just bought this three days before the release of titan fall.

 

Had to put in a service request. This seems to be how my drive operates now.

1. put in disk, hear slight grind sound

2. put in disk, does not read it, keep trying, sometimes 10-15 times.

3. put in disk, hear slight grind, remove disk and hear elongated grind sound.

It also seems to be getting worse as far as #2 goes. Wonder how long service takes.

 

I think my Xbox one is defective also because it won't let me connect to xbox live and it says my WiFi is good and it won't let me play games online at all. My Xbox One if defected!!
