Is my Xbox One dead?

So my Xbox One won't turn one (original Xbox One) any more. Pressing the power on button does nothing, I sometimes get a muted beep when I press the eject button but the disc won't eject. It won't turn on by controller either, the controller just flashes
and vibrates for a bit then goes silent. The light on the power brick is on (I tried unplugging all the cables and leaving it for 2 minutes before plugging it all back in) and when I plug the controller in with the Play And Charge kit, the amber light you
usually get when the controller is charging is now weakly flashing. And the controller is fine, if I use the same cable to plug the controller into my pc the amber light stays on solid and the controller works. So is my Xbox dead, or the power brick, or both?

Is my Xbox One defective?

Had to put in a service request. This seems to be how my drive operates now.

1. put in disk, hear slight grind sound

2. put in disk, does not read it, keep trying, sometimes 10-15 times.

3. put in disk, hear slight grind, remove disk and hear elongated grind sound.

It also seems to be getting worse as far as #2 goes. Wonder how long service takes.

Is my Xbox One defective?

@Your Dead McFly I wasn't able to connect with an Ethernet cable, but I upgraded my modem/router from the Gateway Comcast gave me, and it fixed all my problems. I think the Xbox One's drivers just don't work well with Comcast's gateway. Put all of
my issues have been erased and my netflix and other apps run alot faster... this was the experience I was looking for when I bout my Xbox One.

I would try a new power brick first. Did you also try plugging it into a different socket/outlet to see if it works?

If you have to have it repaired. DON'T!

Ask for a direct exchange where they send YOU a New Console, and you simply put your old console in the box and ship it back to them.

They'll put a $400.00 hold on your Credit/Debit card, which will get released when they receive the old console back.

If you send it in for repair, you'll be lucky to get it back within a month!

Just out of curiosity: Was the New TV a Samsung TV?

Hey there!

I'm sorry to hear about the troubles with your Xbox One. Are you able to power it on to get to the dashboard at all? If so, since you've done a lot of troubleshooting already, I'd recommend going ahead and doing a full

factory reset of your console. Unfortunately you'll have to reinstall or redownload any content that is not saved to your external storage by doing this but I still recommend trying it.

If that doesn't work, it sounds like your console may be in need of repair. If you'd like to explore that option, you can do so via the
Online Service Center.
