    Is my xbox one dead?


    My xbox one wont launch any apps or games (digital or disc) I get a message saying took to long to load, I tried resetting, hard resetting, unplugging xbox and the router, switching to energy save mode and nothing. Now I can't even sign in or view my eternal
    (and external) storage so that I can move my files into the external if I need to buy another xbox, did my console just die on me?

    Had to put in a service request. This seems to be how my drive operates now.

    1. put in disk, hear slight grind sound

    2. put in disk, does not read it, keep trying, sometimes 10-15 times.

    3. put in disk, hear slight grind, remove disk and hear elongated grind sound.

    It also seems to be getting worse as far as #2 goes. Wonder how long service takes.

    @Your Dead McFly I wasn't able to connect with an Ethernet cable, but I upgraded my modem/router from the Gateway Comcast gave me, and it fixed all my problems. I think the Xbox One's drivers just don't work well with Comcast's gateway. Put all of
    my issues have been erased and my netflix and other apps run alot faster... this was the experience I was looking for when I bout my Xbox One.

    Hey there!

    I'm sorry to hear about the troubles with your Xbox One. Are you able to power it on to get to the dashboard at all? If so, since you've done a lot of troubleshooting already, I'd recommend going ahead and doing a full

    factory reset
    of your console. Unfortunately you'll have to reinstall or redownload any content that is not saved to your external storage by doing this but I still recommend trying it.

    If that doesn't work, it sounds like your console may be in need of repair. If you'd like to explore that option, you can do so via the
    Online Service Center.

    If you have to have it repaired. DON'T!

    Ask for a direct exchange where they send YOU a New Console, and you simply put your old console in the box and ship it back to them.

    They'll put a $400.00 hold on your Credit/Debit card, which will get released when they receive the old console back.

    If you send it in for repair, you'll be lucky to get it back within a month!

    Just out of curiosity: Was the New TV a Samsung TV?

    I would try a new power brick first. Did you also try plugging it into a different socket/outlet to see if it works?
