Is my Xbox One dead?

Okay, so... We got a new TV Tuesday, today is Thursday, and Wednesday after the September 15th update, my Xbox is no longer starting up. It turns on, no signal. Then after a few minutes black screen, a few minutes later green Xbox One screen, and that's
it. It just stays on that screen. Well, Wednesday I was trying to update Elder Scrolls, but my Xbox like spazzed out and wouldn't do anything. It wasn't froze, but it was working either. So I power cycled it, and it wouldn't start up. So, I once again turned
it off, and left it alone for a while. Came back, and same thing. Messed it with it off and on for while, then started researching, and also tweeted Xbox Support. They sent me to the Dianostic page thing. Downloaded, tried, tried, tried, tried.. nothing. Downloaded
factory reset... Nothing. So I check out servicing it, not sure yet about that. But anyway, it's been unplugged and just sitting there going on 24 hours. I don't know if I'm doing the diagnostic tool wrong, or if its just dead. I watched video after video,
and as far as I can tell I'm doing what it says.

Any ideas and help is very appreciated!

Is my Xbox One defective?

Had to put in a service request. This seems to be how my drive operates now.

1. put in disk, hear slight grind sound

2. put in disk, does not read it, keep trying, sometimes 10-15 times.

3. put in disk, hear slight grind, remove disk and hear elongated grind sound.

It also seems to be getting worse as far as #2 goes. Wonder how long service takes.

@Your Dead McFly I wasn't able to connect with an Ethernet cable, but I upgraded my modem/router from the Gateway Comcast gave me, and it fixed all my problems. I think the Xbox One's drivers just don't work well with Comcast's gateway. Put all of
my issues have been erased and my netflix and other apps run alot faster... this was the experience I was looking for when I bout my Xbox One.

 

do you have the console connected to a router when your trying the diagnostic tool ?

I would just keep messing around with the diagnostic tool you might get lucky .. at this point you don't have much else to lose or try as far as I know .. well apart from sending it in for repair.

 

No, I pulled everything out besides the hdmi and power cord. Yeah, I agree. Just gonna keep trying. Thanks!

 

If you have to have it repaired. DON'T!

Ask for a direct exchange where they send YOU a New Console, and you simply put your old console in the box and ship it back to them.

They'll put a $400.00 hold on your Credit/Debit card, which will get released when they receive the old console back.

If you send it in for repair, you'll be lucky to get it back within a month!

Just out of curiosity: Was the New TV a Samsung TV?

 

Try disconnecting the power cord from the wall and the console too, and leave it disconnected for 10 minutes or so.

 

No, it's a sceptre TV. Also, don't have a warranty to do that?

My xbox has been sitting on my desk for two days now completely disconnected, makes a pretty paperweight. Lol.

I haven't given up yet, but it's not looking good.
