    Is my Xbox broken?


    So ive had this xbox one for awhile, the halo 5 xbox one, and i stopped playing for about a month, and when i tried to get back on it wouldnt show up on the tv screen, and though the controller would turn the xbox on it wouldnt pair with the xbox. When
    i pressed both sync buttons only the controller would blink. Also i checked the hdmi cables, they are functional. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    my xbox is old my tv is new

    A new console or use an existing upconverting receiver. It's not worth the money to buy a Component to HDMI adapter when any console that old is a ticking timebomb.

    Hi there this is BAD!

    I've got a new lcd tv which is hdmi ready so it doesn't have any off those old av coloured ports at all and my xbox doesn't have a hdmi port becasue it's old. Any suggestions on what I need to get?

    Okay so that sounds like two separate potential issues. Does the controller work if you wire it to the console? Also have you tried the HDMI cable in a different device or a different HDMI cable?

    No it does not. And yes i have connected the hdmi cable to a seperate device. I tried switching their hdmi cables to see if that was the issue and the blue ray device was still the only one to come up on screen.

    Hi JonnyReed

    Sorry to hear about the troubles you are having. Firstly you have done the right thing by checking the cables, am I right in presuming the light on the xbox comes on? If the light is on and the console is making noises ect just check that the HDMI cable
    is definitely in the correct outlet on the back of the console as there is an out and in port.

    Then try "hard resetting" the console while the console is on push and hold the power button until the console switches off. Leave it for about a minute or so then switch it back on.

    Also if there is another TV in the house it may be worth trying it on another TV just in case.

    Let me know how you go with those and I will see what I can find out for you on my end Is my Xbox broken? :)
