  1. Is my xbox about to brick or could it be a certain disk?

Hello all, I've had my xbox one since the end of March with no problems from it. I picked up Forza Horizon 2 when it came out and it played great until a week later when my console started having trouble loading the roads and map. This would cause the game
to lock up and force me to hard reboot my xbox one. I finally factory reset my xbox and bought Nba 2k15 to replace Horizon and I had no issues that I could notice.

I sold Nba to get Sunset Overdrive and as soon as I started playing I could see there were issues like cutscenes skipping, music and loading screens cutting out, game freezing, etc. My system even has trouble passing the green load screen when Sunset Overdrive
is installed. Though with it uninstalled, I can't do much besides netflix since my other games are huge downloads I don't have the time to download on a possibly broken xbox. The xbox seems to start up quickly and the home screen moves well and fast enough.
But the game disk looks good and I can't imagine having the game installed would slow my console down that badly

Is it possible I have a very bad disk? Or is it more likely my xbox is crapping out on me just before my most anticipated game of the year is about to release in 2 weeks?

    :)

Question about a water damaged power brick.

A friend of mine recently had a flood hit his basement and his power brick got completely submerged (luckily the Xbox was elevated so it didn't get any water on/in it), but when he unplugged it he unplugged it from the Xbox first and then the wall.

I know that Xbox One power bricks have surge protectors built in.

My question is that if the damaged power brick were to be replaced with a new one would the Xbox work just fine or could it possibly damage the new power brick?

Sorry if this is a dumb question or not but we're just really curious about whether or not he should bother replacing just the power brick or the whole thing.

  3. Red dot on xbox 360 slim 250G

I am not certain, but I highly doubt it is over heating so the fan is not necessary. My guess is the unit is not getting enough power. Either the console is fault or the power brick is faulty. I would assume it's the power brick. If you know anyone with
a slim console as well, ask to borrow their power cables (and brick) to see if it works on your console. Hopefully that is all that is wrong and you could then buy a new power cable online.

Sounds like it's dying, I suggest you get the "advance exchange" process started ASAP so you don't miss out on the MCC that you're excited for.

Although you can also try a factory reset as a last ditch effort. Copy everything to a external HDD if you have one so you don't have to reinstall/download your games and saves. If you don't have a external, everything can be redownloded from the cloud.

  5. Seems that way. I feel like I'll see this one and buy a new bundle before I bother with the replacement process. I've never been interested in dealing with that and a used/refurbished xbox.

I've factory reset my console a few times now and it always ends up doing the same stuff when I reinstall the game, even though it seems ok when it isn't installed. But seeing as how Forza had a similar problem, and I can't find anyone else with the same
issues from Sunset Overdrive, I feel getting a new one is better than waiting to buy another new game and having it do the same thing to me.

Very stressful stuff here for me. Thanks for your help

Is there still no way to prevent xbox one controller from automatically shutting off?

Also true. If controller is connected through USB and keeps disconnecting, you need to check your USB cable, or purchase a new one.

As I've stated before, about it being plugged into the wall, if you have your USB cord plugged into a brick (phone charging brick) it could easily damage your controller or the cord. Seeing how charging bricks are made for certain batteries / voltage.

    Disc reading error

You may have to buy a disk replacement repair it could be faulty or if its just a certain disk try installing it and if it only fails on one disk it deffinetly needs a disk replacement.

Is anyone having problems with the game disc not being read in the xbox one?

I had this problem for a while. I had to apply pressure to my Xbox in a certain spot in order for it to read disks. Eventually that stopped working and I had to send it in for repair. I'm all digital now, though. My disk drive could be broken right now for
    all I know.
