Is my OG Xbox One slowly dying?

I was playing some AC Syndicate today and I noticed that during certain cutscenes the Xbox One's fan gets a bit loud. Is this normal? (I've had this console for almost four years now.) Should I replace it? It also gets pretty damn hot while playing any game.

EDIT: This started today. It has never done this in the 4+ years I have owned the console. The only time when the fans turned on before this was when the console was updating, and that's it.

Please support Steel Battalion for OG xbox BC on xbox one!! and we need a OG controller adapter

I own the Steel Battalion games one OG xbox, it's a great games with a custom controller which is great.

I wish the OG xbox BC can support this game. Further more, I wish MS can release a OG controller adapter to allow users use their OG controller on xbox one.

Well those are OG Xbox games, so most likely no. Until they announce you can play OG Xbox games on your One.

 

From what you say, you probably have some issues with your cooling fans, unless you have placed your xbox so that the cooling system is not able to get the proper air supply.

I would have it checked or, considering is not brand new anymore, I would go for the X as a replacement (here's the gamer in me speaking, not the savvy guy).

 

Ah, I see. This started just today, I hope you know. I have been wanting to upgrade to the Xbox One S for a while now.

 

Chances are the fans or vents are getting clogged. As long as the system isn’t shutting off for exceeding it’s thermal limits you don’t have anything to worry about besides the noise.
