    Is my hard drive on my XBOX One X faulty?


    A couple of weeks ago on startup I had the green logo stutter and it took a while for the Xbox to start, when I tried to restart it wouldn't. I hard reset but again it would not start up, I then did the Eject/Pair and start button, reset the console and
    it all started up, however when putting a game in it stopped at 14% and the console locked again. So I tried the offline update but again the same happened. If I reset it but dont put any games in it seems ok, so from what I can see it may be a faulty Hard
    drive, it is over two years old, bought on release day so getting on a bit I guess. I would be grateful for your thoughts on this. Thanks.

    Not sure if it is significant but even with everything else loading fine on the External, it will not download/update the Microsoft Store or Youtube, seems odd??

    Funny you mention that, it is only since then I have had the issue, only on the X though, my S is fine.

    If it is the hard drive it will make a ticking nose, while running, before it breaks, most of the time..

    Seems like you tried everything I'd suggest besides a power cycle. It looks like you are past the warranty period as well but you can still send it in for repairs but not sure if the cost is better then just buying a new console.
