    Is my GPU failing? Red lines on screen


    I've just set up my xbox one again after having moved house. When I turned it on last night to play Forza, I got horizontal red lines across the screen. The same happened tonight with Battlefield 4. Everything has been set up the same - kinect, HDMI (MS
    supplied one) etc.

    I've had my xbox for almost a year, so I don't want to go out of warranty and find it's the GPU... It hasn't been over used as it's just me uses it; it hasn't been used in dusty rooms or any other way that could cause overheating issues.

    Any advice is appreciated so I don' end up with a €500 brick!

    Could be something in the HDMI path. Might be worth swapping out the cable. If that doesn't help, the dedicated GPU memory is going bad and there's nothing you can do about it.

    Weird lines on screen

    I'm not sure what I'm looking at here... Arkham Asylum? Is it the verticle banding with what looks like DNA strands? That doesn't look like a GPU failure there... part of the game? The off pixels turning green--can't see in the image--does sounds like
    it however.



    You say the console is under warranty so I would just recommend you ship it out to service.

    Have you tried a different HDMI cable? Also try connecting your HDMI cable into a different port on your T.V to see if that helps.

    If the red lines are still visible the I would recommend you send in your Xbox One for repair. To start the repair process please click the link below.

    I know it sounds awful, but I only use the xbox; no bluray or sky etc. Therefore I just have the one cable...

    I will try a different port and then if the issue persists, I'll go the warranty route.

    Any chance in borrowing a HDMI cable off of a friend or neighbour for a few seconds just to make sure that's definitely not the cause?

    My XBOX ONE started doing this today while playing Destiny. Red vertical lines all over the place and anything 'dark' was covered with blotchy red patterns. GPU is getting wonky (this used to happen on 360s as well).

    I swapped cable, ports, etc. still happens...

    Update on 2/16 has messed up my color

    I know that the latest update further degraded the color space but the red flickering sounds like your GPU might be starting to fail.
