    Is my Disc Drive Faulty?


    Purchased my Xbox one Name Your Game Bundle a month ago and last night had a problem with the disc drive. now i had 5 xbox one consoles in the past that had disc drive issues and the main one was when i would take a disc out it would sound like i was ejecting
    a disc when i would be removing one. Last night i removed a disc out of the console and when i tried putting a different disc in it wouldnt go in at all as if the disc drive was shut. so i kept trying to insert it then it went in and the game played. when
    i removed the disc i put a different game in and when it went in the console wouldnt read it so i ejected it and did a hard reset (hold power button for 10 seconds) when i turned it back on it seems to be working fine now. should i start to worry that it might
    fault soon?

    Issues Reading discs error code (0x21): Your disc might be dirty or damaged.

    My console is being replaced for faulty disc drive. I am convinced they got a bad batch of disc drives.

    Disc read error

    You can try the disc drive troubleshooting guide here:
    support.xbox.com/.../disc-drive-solution

    In my experience, however, once a console stops reading some discs, it is a sign that the drive is wearing out. I would be prepared to send it for repair soon.

    USB 3.0 Drive... Can I use it to transfer an installed game from one Xbox One console to another?

    If the disc drive is faulty then you may still have issues even with the game installed on an external drive.

    The disc still needs to be read to verify it when you first put the disc into the console.

    I've had faulty disc drives that would not play disc copies of games even though they were already installed.

    I have the same issue, but didn't have it the first day (watched a Blu-ray first day but wouldn't ready anything day 2 and on). I also have an issue where my XBox shuts down for no reason after about 5-10 minutes after playing a game. It will come back
    on, but I cannot play any games until they get me my new one (hoping it works though).
