Is MS making a mistake on price?

Does anyone else think MS is making a mistake by not keeping XB1 core console at $349, and Kinect XB1 @ $449. I bought mine at full price day one, so it doesn't directly affect me in a financial way. The lower price has allowed them to make some pretty decent
gains on the PS4 lead, so why not keep the momentum going. Even with Sony's financial situation being what it is, they are still bound to lower their price to $349 sometime in the near future. So again why not keep the momentum going, and beat them to the
punch. MS is going to look rediculous if on Jan 3rd XB1 is $399 and Sony announces Ps4 is now $349, and then MS flip flops again. Just keep the price as it is, or better yet drop it to $329 core, and $399 w/Kinect both with 90day xbl subs. Sony didn't mind kicking
Xbox when it was down over the whole DRM and always on debacle. So Sony is in a bit of pickle right now, why not return the favor. Get the marketshare lead and run with it, it will all pay off in a couple of years.

The Walking Dead Episode 1

I hope it pops up on the marketplace sometime today, I was looking forward to playing it.

Not sure exactly what the deal is, but TellTale or MS or whoever is responsible for getting this out is making a big mistake by making the Xbox community wait on this.

I wouldn't be surprised if they do release a retail disc with all the episodes later on this year.

 

Does anyone know how to file a complaint regarding chat support?

What do you expect to achieve, they admitted to making a mistake, move on people make mistakes.

 

I think they would be crazy, but it only says that the Xbox ONE W/ AC Unity without Kinect and the Xbox ONE W/AC Unity with Kinect are going back to regular price.

I think they should keep the price where it is. It is clear that they have gained a level of success with it and hit their stride. Im sure they will make whatever they lose back on digital sales and other Live based sales.

 

They'd be crazy not to keep it where it is. Even if they're losing money per console (don't know if they are) but most consoles do lose money per unit sold. They make money on software anyway.

 

Raising the price just after Xmas is a huge mistake. Everybody is looking for a bargain as most people skint themselves to have a good Xmas.

 

Yes, it can't keep up with PS4 at $400. One xbox's saving graces last gen was that for most of the gen they had a cheaper SKU than PS3. They really should look into offering a cheaper digital only box or one with a smaller hard drive just to give the perception
that they have the cheapest system.

 

P34, 500GB not small enough for you? Also digital only was something MS was considering digital only (as in no disc-drive) months before the console's release, but that idea was shot down quickly because people weren't ready for that (and likely still aren't).

 

No, they are not making a mistake by lowering the price of the X1... Even further than it is now!

Even with a redesign (Ex - X1 Slime) Manufacturing costs, and production rates can only improve over time so why not pass that along to the consumer?

 

In my opinion I believe that Microsoft is making a small mistake at having lowered the price so soon. Growing up I wish companies would have lowered the price within a year or less like Microsoft. Times have changed but like I have said many times, not all
change is good. I picked up a 349.00 dollar console and it has been a headache! My day was amazing without having any issues or hiccups. Lower the price and quality goes down as I am experiencing first hand.

It may hurt them a little on sales, if they raise the price, but the XB1 seems to be getting each month, so once people really notice that, it should still be worth the price. After all, it would still match the price of the PS4.
