Is Minecraft for X1 available on disc?

Not a gamer, trying to buy Minecraft for XBOX One on disc for kids. None of my local stores have it and they seem to know nothing. We don't do Xbox Live, so don't want the downloaded version.

Not yet. There isn't a difference between what the disc version will be and the downloaded version, so I don't see the harm in connecting the console to the Internet and downloading the game.

 

Thank you for the answer. I was under the impression that downloaded games need to be connected to Xbox Live just to play them? We have three girls and they just want to play together offline.

 

You need to be on the internet to download any game off Xbox Live, but I take it you already knew that. But you dont have to be onli e to play any game you download, unless its online only game like Titanfall or TES: Online

We haven't downloaded a game but it seems like a fairly straightforward process. Is there a top-end memory limit to the Xbox console that I need to be aware of?

 

Your Xbox One will have enough space to run plenty of games so don't worry. Minecraft only takes just a few of the memory on Xbox One, I believe all models of the Xbox One at the moment have 500GB, so you don't need to worry.

 

As for "when will the discs ship?" -- They haven't even been announced yet, so we could only offer speculation. The discs for 360 shipped roughly a year after the download came out, so we could possibly be looking at September 2015 for the discs. Good
