Is Microsoft's stance that is will not support Virtual Reality for XBOX ONE X official?

Many of us bought the XBOX One X system based on the fact Microsoft openly stated it would support VR. While I understand the money issues of profitability and support, given the limited number of XBOX One X systems sold, Microsoft has produced VR systems
for Windows 10 and since XBOX One X shares the same operating system baseline there shouldn't be any support issues. At a minimum why not let third party vendors support VR on the XBOX One X. If Microsoft is in fact taking the stance of not supporting VR
on the XBOX One X then I believe that it broke it's promise to it customers and should in fact provide some form of restitution.

    :)

    Xbox One X Virtual Reality

I want to see a virtual reality headset come to the Xbox One X so that we can enjoy Virtual Reality without selling our houses.

Hi, Actually Microsoft never stated that they would support VR on Xbox One. They are more interested on the PC side of things when it comes to VR. Hence the partnerships with HTC, Oculus, and other manufacturers.

I remember Microsoft stating that the Xbox One X would be capable of supporting VR. So technically the promise has not been broken as they never guaranteed it was coming.

Hi! Phil Spencer did mention that at some point Xbox will support it. At the same time he stressed that they will wait a few years since he/the team doesn't think VR hasn't matured enough yet to be convenient enough to be used in living
rooms. Besides that, I expect some announcements regarding Windows 10 AR headsets to be supported by Xbox One next E3 (if not 2019 then most likely 2020).

I feel very let down, as I bought the Xbox one X on the ecpectation of using it for VR, given the clear intention of MS to produce a system. Technically you may walk away from this but I for one will walk away from you. Hello Sony, show me where I can
    spend my hard earned money.
