Is Microsoft Store (former Xbox Marketplace) renaming itself now into Xbox Store?

Microsoft could build their own Steam-esque store on the Marketplace. Though I suppose they do have Windows Live Games with a store etc. But it would be cool to see new releases thrown onto the Xbox Live Games on Demand on the Xbox
itself.

you are viewing that in the xbox/microsoft store, you need to see it in the xbox app itself.

I managed to download it by searching it up through the microsoft store. The store itself and the microsoft site seem to both see that i have a subscription. It's only the xbox app itself that can't see it

Unfortunately modding is not a thing right now for the Microsoft store games
There are some games with an in-game marketplace, there you can find some mods.

But if you’re referring to modify the game files itself, that’s not possible yet
They’re encrypted and protected by the system

Try to buy the game on Microsoft Store for Xbox One games or Xbox Marketplace for Xbox 360 games
