Is Microsoft aware that not all inhabitant of a country are always speaking the same language?

Hi all,

I am leaving in Switzerland, a country where 75% of the people are speaking german. However more than 20% are speaking french, many are speaking italian and a few are speaking romantsch.

This is for sure something new for Microsoft, as every single game I have installed using a code are installed in German, although my console is configured as "Swiss - French". So I have to configure my console as "France - French", so the game can be re-installed
in french.

In fact, I really wonder why do I have to configure the language indenpendently of the country, if this is not taken into account.

So I leave this post, to see if other users are living in country Microsoft do consider as one unique language with a huge disrespect for all other culture in the same country.

Seriously, Saudi Arabia, we live in the WEST.. I hope you realise there's more profit in a tiny country like Ireland (4.5 million inhabitants) than the 30 million in your country.

To lose 1 billion in sales means 2 million (i.e. one 15th of your total population) would need to buy day one console, really? No country would even be close to that ratio, not by a mile.

Belgium, make original movie audio available and not only Frensh dubded version when Dutch subtitled version is not availble

The problem here is that the region xbox chooses for dutch speaking belgian citizens is WRONG.

It chooses french by default (with no option to change it) while flanders is NOT a french region.

Xbox video therefor is unuseable by any and all dutch speaking belgians.

Belgium is a country with multiple official languages, yet microsoft for some reason insists on using only 1 of those. And it happens to be the one that always dubs movies. If it were only wrong subtitles, I could live with it (although i'ld still find
it unacceptable)... But it's not.

The movies are all dubbed in french and there is NO WAY to change it.

The only option we have as dutch speaking belgians is by changing our region to the netherlands instead. Which is actually not an acceptable solution either, because at that point our microsoft account is located in the wrong country - which brings in a
whole new set of problems.

I consider this issue one of the biggest embarassments of microsoft as this has been going on for as long as I remember. A quick internet search on this topic reveals threads from YEARS ago with exactly the same problem.

And nobody can answer it in a satisfying way. Not even microsoft itself.

The entertainment aspects of the Xbox One are very interesting and a good reason to choose an xbox instead of a playstation. But this surplus comes crumbling down faster then a house of cards due to such ridiculous issues.

The entire thing is rendered useless for about 6 million people living in the northern half of Belgium.

There's not much we can do here in Support as it sounds like, from your description, that the games are working as designed (whether that's a good design or not...), so the avenue you may want to take is to head over to the Xbox Feedback site to voice this
opinion. The Feedback site is read by Xbox engineers and they use it to determine priorities for development.
