So recently I decided to change my Xbox Profile picture to something a little patriotic, a picture of Michael Collins. Here is some a brief about him.

Michael Collins was an Irish revolutionary, soldier and politician who was a leading figure in the early-20th-century Irish struggle for independence. He was Chairman of the Provisional Government of the Irish Free State from January 1922 until his
assassination in August 1922.

Now with that in mind does Collins break the xbox terms of service when it comes to Gamer pictures?

He is a notorious figure, with somewhat of a chequered history. His connection and organisation of certain controversial groups (which I most certainly won't bring up on here but you will know the one I refer to) and that is the most likely reason you gotaction
taken against you.

You have to look at both sides of the coin, hero to some, villain to others. That alone makes him a controversial notorious figure, which infringes on the code of conduct.

I personally don’t agree with the ban for having that as your image if it is someone who fought for the country and made sacrifices but i would reach out regarding the suspension

I received a email saying my Xbox Live account has been subject to enforcement action due to a violation of the Microsoft Services Agreement.

i understand that some people may view him as a controversial political figure but its the fact that he is not. And to say its to do with him being in the military is bogus as look at all the games about war and military’s on xbox

It could be considered as a military image that might cause or insentivate the controversy or it may even be offensive to some sector, but first it must be considered that all profile images take some time to appear on their profile, it could also be that
if Your account has some parental restriction do not worry about the image itself, but take care of the identity since the system detects a person.

Did you get a notice that it was removed, or simply that it's not reflecting in your profile? From what I know it can take a while for changes show up and it does not show the custom picture for all locations in the service.

Additionally, we here are a community forum. There are support staff to assist, but they do not make or enforce the policies (save those of Forum usage) for the platform so no one here would be able to give a definitive statement as to why an action was
taken, or even if action was.
