How have the developers of minecraft been more innovative than Treyarch and IW? The only argument you have is that you were only charged once to play minecraft. The developers of COD introduced Zombies, extinction, new game modes every year, new maps every
few months, new weapons, new perks, new camos, new character customization, new killstreaks/pointstreaks/scorestreaks, new create a class systems...ect. ect. Correct me if I'm wrong, but most of the cool mods/game modes/buildings have been created by the
users, not the developers of minecraft. I don't understand why it's cool to hate on COD. What do people want to see change in COD? If you drastically change cod, it's not cod anymore (The guys who made COD 4 have the 'new' COD coming out in a month). Millions
of people buy COD and enjoy it every year. Sure people have their own preferences between the developers. No game will ever satisfy everyone. The problem with COD is that it was so much fun that we have burned ourselves out over the past several years....and
there hasn't been any real competition. I hope COD switching to a 3 year cycle will help....I also want to see what it will be like when they make the first next gen version of call of duty.

I'd also like to hear a comparison of Minecraft 360 vs COD when it comes to innovation. What has minecraft 360 done in the past 2 years? Skin packs...lol. Great game, a lot of replayability via the users creativity, but innovative?....dunno bout that.
lol, I hate sounding like a Minecraft hater because I love the game and can't wait for Minecraft One to drop.

I don't dislike Call of Duty because of it's gameplay. Call of Duty is Call of Duty, and I don't want Call of Duty to change too much.

I think that they have done ok with game releases. If you like Call of Duty, and you want to play some Call of Duty, you know what to expect when they are releasing a game since they're all so similar. If you're bored of the gameplay, then I don't see why you
need to complain about it. If they keep selling, that means more people must like the gameplay than you, and you're in somewhat of a "minority".

I buy Call of Duty games every once in a while. The last one I bought was Black Ops 2, and Black Ops before that, then Modern Warfare 2 and WaW before that. I haven't bought every singe one, simply because I didn't want to because I didn't feel like buying
a game with the same gameplay. There is nothing wrong with that in my opinion. People who want get new games, and people who don't can keep playing the games they like.

However, what I do dislike is how Activision runs the company. Many people will tell you that they are the worst thing to happen to gaming the last generation, and it may be true.

First of all, they were one of the first developers with the audacity to raise their smaller map pack DLC prices to $20. And why shouldn't they, since admittedly, a good portion of the community is heavily spoonfed, misinformed, or just plain idiodic. The bumble
onto the general discussion forms and ask "Why can't I buy the DLC map pack yet?". They're so spoonfed that they are ready to throw their money at the screen, no matter the cost, even when they see a simple advertisement about the latest Call of Duty DLC.
The price of the DLC literally makes you pay for the game twice if you choose to do so, which in my opinion, is wrong. You should never pay over the price of the original game with only 3 or 4 map packs.

Another reason people dislike Call of Duty is because of the big influence they've had on games in the past couple years. Many people argue that the success of games like Call of Duty and Battlefield selling huge amounts of copies and overpriced DLC lead to
the "everything must have multiplayer" movement a couple years back. To be honest, that is somewhat of a long-shot to arbitrarily draw a line from games getting crappy multiplayer when most think they should be single player to Call of Duty.

A big thing they also do is abandon their games. I'm sure you know if you go and try to play Call of Duty 4, or Call of Duty: WaW, there will be hacks aplenty. They don't fix these games because they don't care about people playing their older games, they want
people to buy the new ones. Modern Warfare 2's map fuel or whatever also comes to mind. There was a rock people could sit in, shoot out of, but not get shot at. It took them a very, very long time to fix this since Black Ops was already released, and IW/Sledge
was working on Modern Warfare 3. It should not have gone on that long, and it should have been an easy fix.

My personal reason behind not liking it too much is also it's community. It's no surprise to anyone here that Call of Duty has a generally ***-poor (general) community. Sure most of the players posting on the forums a good people, but thats a small sliver of
the real community. They simply brood everything bad in one spot. From jokesters that aren't funny that keep telling jokes, to youtube montagers, to the ones who constantly swear and cry OP every time they die, Call of Duty is just filled to the brim with
undesirables. Thats not really Call of Duty's fault, but it is a reason people dislike the games a lot.

So, TL;DR, Call of Duty is a decent game. If you don't like it, don't buy it. There are many reasons not to like the game and what it stands for, but the game itself is not horrible, although it's not everyone's favorite. The real reason people dislike it is
everything it stands for.

Minecraft is fun because as it turns out, people like building stuff. You get this giant piece of land and well, you just start making stuff and before you know it you have 3 friends with you and it's midnight and you're talking about everything under the
sun and having a great time. Minecraft is a simple, brilliant game that proves that graphics are and will always be secondary to a well thought-out gameplay.
Great post, that sums Minecraft up perfectly!

Ps. If you have not played Terraria yet you should, it is nearly as much fun as Minecraft.

MC on console is not what I'm talking about. I appreciate that it's a way for people to experience the game but as far as I'm concerned it might as well be a demo. Charging for skin packs when there are thousands for free on PC and you can make your own
is just shameful money grubbing.

.

If you don't see why COD lacks innovation then more power to you, have fun with it.
Have you not read my posts as of late, I am hardly complacent.

You have to give Kudos to Microsoft for releasing Minecraft on Xbox, sure it sold very well, but it was not as popular as it is now, and it has given nothing but joy to millions of console gamers on the formats available, had it stayed on PC it would have been
a huge loss to console gaming...

DayZ has no story, no missions, no leveling system, one set of weak enemies...need I say more?

Rust is similar to Dayz except the enemies are a little stronger and I have seen two types of enemies instead of one.

What makes minecraft simple is the lack of a story and of course the graphics play a part. Now a days so many people mindlessly complain about how a game is only 720/900p with what I would I consider to be great graphics....yet you can put out a game like
minecraft and it breaks all kinds of records.

Again, this isn't intended to be negative towards these games.
