Is it worth it getting an Xbox One now, along with a PS4?

    Hello all,

I am sure you have probably seen the same question from a few others in the past, but I really need help.

Me and a friend were really interested in an Xbox One specially after the last E3 because of many things, including but not limited to backwards compatibility, and having Rise of the tomb raider on it. We both have a PS4, along with the rest of our friends
but we usually take the move first moving to different platforms (like from Android to iPhone, or vise verse. Just an example) then if we like it there we tell them to join us later.

I wanted to know if it was worth having an Xbox One along with PS4. What's so special about the Xbox you think, and can you suggest us games that would last for a real long time that are exclusive, timed exclusive or a game that gives benefits to the Xbox
One over the competition (like extra items, modes or maps) as these are the only games I am looking forward to, as any other cross platform game will be bought on PS4 till all, or at least most of my friends move. We are all planning to move to the next generation
Xbox (the one after Xbox One) but me and my friend wanted a sneak peak of how good it is now, and how good Xbox Live is. We are planning for the Forza 5 bundle.

Summary: Me and a friend getting an Xbox One earlier than my other friends to test it, then they might switch. We would like to hear your game suggestions (but please only exclusives, timed exclusives or in-game item exclusives). We would like to also know
if it was worth having both consoles.

    :)

DragonAge 2?? Is it worth getting it now?

I have the first one. No other game has made me want to smash my xbox in frustration. I'd sell it if not for the very slight chance I'll play it again for the cheevos.

It usually depends on the number of DLC available and the popularity of the game. If there are 4 or more, then I'd say there's a good likelihood of a Ultimate Edition coming out. At least one of those DLC has to be a major one.

If you can afford both consoles why not have both?

A lot of my buddies have PS 4's that they dust off when a title like "The Order" or "Bloodborn" is released.

If you can swing having both then go for it. I personally am a gamer, and am not loyal to either system. However, what finally got me to bite on PS 4 was the Star Wars themed console that they are coming out with. I was going to get one anyway when the
    Uncharted Collection hit anyway.

Like in a lot of other similar threads like this it's only really you that can decide if the Xbox One is right for you.

For example I absolutely love a lot of Xbox One's exclusives, Forza, Ryse, Dead Rising ( to name but a few ) but for someone who doesn't like the look of these games the console won't be as appealing to them. So I would say to anyone, look at it's exclusives,
games that are out now, yet to be released, if the majority appeal to you then go for it.

How good is Xbox LIVE? It's not perfect, I still have a few issues with Party Chat and occasionally you get a Service Alert out that can cause issues with signing in, downloading games from the Xbox Store but like any service out there, you will always get
issues. Overall though it's by far the best online service I have used and well worth the subscription fee.

Have fun Is it worth it getting an Xbox One now, along with a PS4? :)

Just to add ( which I should of before ) what's been said above.

I personally think it's well worth having both consoles. Now not wanting the old argument of which has the best/more exclusives, it's different for everyone but looking at the games out for both, what's coming this year and next for both, no-way would I
want to miss out on games from either side.

@FullHornet I would like to know how will you pick games once you get amPS4? like what factors will make you decide which console you will get a game on?

@Lofty Who Yeah of course, it all returns to my own decision in the end. all i know that i have a solid decision that i am transferring to Microsoft as a full ecosystem soon, like in a year probably. because Microsoft has changed a lot in the past few months,
changed into the better. so i was planning to go for Xbox once a new generation was there, but i was like... why not go Xbox now, or at least give it a try and who knows maybe the next Xbox gets X1 BC too so i would then have a good library.

Regarding Xbox Live, of course it is not perfect but i believe is better than PSN. i am sick of the slow download speeds i get from PSN. i got a 100 Mbps connection yet my PS4 can only download on a speed between 100 kb/s to 1 Mb/s. A fellow student in my
college can download on full speed from live. Xbox Gold seams to be also offering better overall games, not almost everything Indies like Sony.

also one last question to those who read everything about the 360 BC. do you think one day it will support all 360 games? there is a game i really like called Digimon Rumble Arena - All Rumble that i wish to play on Xbox One but i am really worried the dev
behind it is not too known for Microsoft to talk to..

More than likely PS4 will just be for exclusives and a very select few multi plats.

  10. I have both and play my One more. Have more games I am looking forward to on the One in the next year. Who can say about beyond that since games get pushed out sometimes and new games announced. One thing I really like is the integration of Windows 10
and the features that are adding across that with Xbox. Together with the One and my tablet I just really like the setup. Plus as much as I like the improved DS4 controller I really love the new controller the One has.

  12. I also have both. I though use the ps4 more than my xbox. I like the xbox but I always play the cross platform games on the ps4, and I prefer the ps4 exclusives to the xbox's. That's just me though. If there are some xbox exclusives you particularly
want to play, then get it, it is a good console.

As for the on line service, I havnt found the xox live to be any different to the PSN. Both go down occasionally but I don't agree that the PSN is down more. I'm looking forward to getting Tombraider for the xbox and maybe Gears of War 4.

So all in all get one if you want to play their exclusives.

Is it worth it getting an Xbox One now, along with a PS4?

Titanfall is still one of my favorite games of the past few years, i was playing the Black Ops beta last night, right away feels like they're using Titanfall as inspiration, but failing to capture what made Titanfall's movement feel so good when double jumping
and wall running.... but i digress, should check out EA Access, Titanfall is the only Xbox exclusive, but that is a whole lot of gaming for $30 a year.

Sunset Overdrive is at the top of my list as well, it wasn't for everyone, but if that is your type of game, it is a lot of fun. Rare Replay is a lot of fun, Halo:Master Chief Collection is good if you haven't played the series already.

looking to the future, Quantum Break is looking pretty awesome, Cuphead looks amazing, Rise of the Tomb Raider is looking good, and Halo 5 i guess...

@Zero Divided I like all of them, specially Sunset and Quantum. I always heard good things about Halo but I was really afraid to end up having a game that feels almost like Destiny. I am a huge Destiny fan, so I am trying to avoid games that look like it
as they end up collecting dust.

It's actually a fact Halo looks better than Destiny, but I just got used to Destiny. Thanks for the suggestions though Is it worth it getting an Xbox One now, along with a PS4? :)

If there was no halo then there would have been no destiny because they were both created by the same game developer.
