Is it possible to use a USB headphone with Xbox One?

Do you know if it's possible to hook up wired headphones to the USB port of the Xbox One? We don't need a microphone, just the headphones so our daughter can watch Netflix or Hulu without the rest of us having to listen. Thanks! Paul

The micro-usb port on the controller is not designed for use for headphones.

The Xbox One Controller is designed for using a headset with a 3.5mm jack. There is no general USB support on the Xbox One console for USB headsets.

You'll need to buy a headset that's compatible with the console.

looks like you have a wireless connection. do you have wireless headphones you use with your xbox? such as: Turtle Beach wireless headset? If so, this may be the main cause of your issue. those types of headphones usually broadcast on the same frequency
as your wireless router. so if you have these headphones, you should also have a "transceiver" plugged into your xbox using a usb cable to a little box. a lot of times people set this box right on top of their xbox and it will drown out your wireless signal
from your router. SO, to resolve that, all you have to do is move that little box as far away from your xbox as possible (it should have a fairly long usb cable attached) if this doesn't work, then try to disconnect them completely and test it. if you dont
have these headphones, then dont bother with my suggestion xD

tl;dr=if you have wireless headphones, move the little box that came with it, or unplug it completely.

 

I doubt it, but I don't know for sure and don't have a USB headset to try out. If you do, turn off your console completely, (not the standby state) plug it in, start it up & give it a shot. If you still get audio through your regular speakers then no. Sorry

Thanks for giving it a try. I don't have USB headphones, and that's why I'm trying to get an answer--before buying them and having to take them back.

 

I also tried this out of curiosity with my Razer Megalodons. Sadly, they did not work.

 

No it doesnt work unfortunately, i contacted the live support and they told me "they would send it to the higher parts and that they would start working on it" (which will never happen)
