    Is it possible to put an foreign object in the console disk slot?


    Ok, so I have a younger brother who loves drawing and he draws in my room because I have a desk. But I can't help but think that he might accidentally put one of his pencils in my Xbox One's disk slot, now my question is could it be possible to even put
    a pencil in it. Even though I turn my console off every day before I leave for school.

    Somebody, please just tell me that it can't happen.

    If the scratch is circular, check the CD tray for foreign matter and possibly a plastic burr on the tray. Use a clean lint free cloth to gently wipe the tray. There could be a grain of sand(or salt) or other similar small object on the tray that is scratching
    the disks as the disk comes to a stop on the tray after spinning.

    If the scratch is straight across the disk, open the tray and carefully look in the open slot (us flashlight if needed) for a foreign object or plastic burr and wipe clean with a clean lint free cloth.

    I would say that if your son has used your xbox one as a piggy bank i would arrange for it to go to the service center for repair.

    As if you try to remove the coins yourself you could void your warrenty or cause more damage to your console.

    It is possible for items that fit to get pushed into the console through the disc slot however as the opening is very small this should help to reduce the chances of this happening.

    If you are concerned about this occurring then I would recommend finding a secure location for the console.
