Is it possible to merge an offline profile with an online account?

My daughter's had her own profile on my XB360 for sometime, but it has been just an offline profile only. Today I wanted to take her online so that she can chat to her cousins, I tried several times to connect her to Live via the console but it kept saying
that account creation is not available at the moment please try again later. So I came online on my PC to do it via the website, however in doing so it created a whole new account, I didn't realise I was doing this at the time, it really wasn't very clear.
She doesn't want to use the new account because she doesn't want to leave her old profile as it has lots of game saves on it. She also doesn't want to change her gamertag, but that gamertag is now associated with the new account. Anyone know the best way to
sort this?

No, sorry. It is not possible to merge two profiles/accounts together.



You can recover the account you use on your PC to your console or you can make the offline profile on your console into an online (Live) one, but you can't merge the two.

Sorry, i didn't express myself properly, i would like to merge one offline profile with this xbox live account, the offline profile don't have anything but achievements ( no gametag ), is that possible?

 

Sorry, but it is not possible to merge accounts or transfer anything between accounts.

If she is on a child account, unfortunately there is no way to convert that from an offline account to a Live account. It would have had to be created as a Live account originally.

 

So is it possible to delete & close the new live account that is associated with her email address so that I can then try again to take her current offline profile online and associate it with her email account?
