Is it possible to make backup copies of game saves on the Bone?

I use a 2TB external hard drive with my Xbox One, and as far as I know all my data (installs and progress) gets saved there. I just wondered if it was possible to make a copy of progress to the hard drive, just in case of tech failure. The one time I attempted
it, it seemed to me like it was trying to copy everything, including the installed game disc, which isn't what I wanted.

Anyone do this very often?

1. If you have your Gears: Judgement player data/campaign saves synced with the Cloud on Xbox ONE, play some of it and then load it on your 360 with Cloud saves activated, is any new progress you made whilst playing on your Xbox ONE lost or does it carry

2. Everyone knows the method of creating backup copies of your player data/campaign saves for Gears 3 and Gears: Judgement on 360 by now. Knowing that this is possible due to the Gears servers storing your data, does this mean that if you start up Gears:
Judgement on the Xbox ONE whilst connected to Live, the servers will carry over your stats???

All game saves are stored in the cloud.

I didn't realize it was all in the cloud. Does this essentially mean that you would have to be connected to Live in order to play any of your games, even disc based ones?

 

No, not necessarily; it just means that your saved game files that would otherwise be in the cloud can't be updated or used as backups if you delete it from your HDD - at least until you reconnect to Xbox Live.

 

Good to know. Thanks GG. I'm anticipating having some serious play time with Dragon Age Inquisition starting next week (if I like the 6 hour trial from EA Access). I always worry about losing my RPG saves.

 

Wait, there's a 6-hour free trial of DA:I with EA Access? I didn't know that - I'd like to try that out!

 

Yeah, it starts on Friday I believe. Full game for 6 hours (although I don't know if the co-op will be live or not).

One head's-up about those trials...if you don't hit your guide button and physically quit your trial before shutting the console down, it runs in the background and eats up time. This happened to me when I tried out NHL 15. Shut my console off with 5.5
hours left, and came back that evening to find just 30 minutes.

Knowing me, though, I'll probably chew up a 6 hour trial of DA:I in one sitting

So all of the " Save Game Data " is not in the Xbox One HDD? I'm confused, can someone please explain this to me?

Your saved data is stored on the HD because as someone else stated if cloud storage was used for all saves then you couldn't play offline.

We have no way of accessing any of our saves or even seeing what's been saved (multiple saves for games or a single save). This is something I hope changes very soon, not being able to back up our own saves is ridiculous.
