    Is it possible to associate my xbox gamertag with a new email address only?


    Is it possible to move my gamertag to a new Microsoft account and completely disassociate with the old account? My son would like to do this now that he is grown. Of course he does not want to lose his history, etc.

    yeah just create a new email address, go to xbox.com and change the email associated with your gamertag. heres the lnk for you.

    How do I change old email gamertag to good email AND delete a gamertag associated with same good email?

    Ok, I currently use an old email that I no longer have access to (over 5 years). My account for Xbox Live works fine with this login, however I want to use my current email address that is currently associated with windows and use my same current gamertag.
    The problem is, back a few years ago out of confussion, I created a new gamertag by mistake with my current working email address.

    All I want to do is delete the gamertag account associated with my current email AND THEN change my current good gamertag and un-associate it from the old email and connect it with my current working email.

    Hello,

    Yes the emails contain details for my Mudplugger gamertag but they are addressed to the previous email address that used to be associated with my gamertag. When I migrated my gamertag to a new email address the rewards program never updated.

    You can only have one email address associated with each Gamertag at one time.

    Before it used to be possible to make one the alias of the other (so you sort-of-but-not-really merge the two, making one primary (and the one associated with the Gamertag) and the other just added on) but I'm not sure if this is still possible. If it is,

    Even so, only one (Primary) would be associated with the Gamertag, the other would just be associated with the Primary too.

    Hi Nick_674

    A gamertag is linked to a Microsoft account. You can create a new account and associate a new gamertag with it, but all accounts must have a unique email address. This email address can be an existing address, but it can't already be associated with another
    account.

    To recap... one email address = one gamertag. But you don't need to create a new email address.
