    So I got a got anagram type of name if you know what I mean and it was already taken, I decided to check the account out to see if I could sort anything out wit dude but bro’s gamerscore was zero, had a completely default Xbox pfp and with no social activity. I mean they aren’t using the name so I don’t see a reason why I wouldn’t be able to but Microsoft support is terrible.

    If the name is on the server, then there's no way for you to take it. The gamertag system is in use on other Microsoft services, so even if it's not in use on an Xbox, it may be in use elsewhere. You can still use the gamertag, but you will be given a suffix to differentiate you. Otherwise, if the person does not sign into their account for 5 years, the gamertag will be freed up.

    I play Minecraft on my PlayStation 4 so that's the console I'm having issues on. I'm not really sure what you mean by third party account as Microsoft only lets you link things to Microsoft approved/partnered things, but it was my Xbox/Microsoft account, I changed the Xbox account's randomly generated username to a new one and that's when I first started getting problems logging into my Microsoft account on the PlayStation but it still let me log back in eventually, then I changed my Xbox username to match my PSN username and now it doesn't let me log in at all.

    Is it not even possible for me to find out which account I need to log in to? Surely Microsoft can access some information? There is no account (username) information on the PayPal transaction, but Microsoft must know which account this is linked to?
