Is it normal for the thumbsticks/triggers on an Xbox 360 controller to register as fully...

I bought an Xbox 360 controller off Amazon for use on PC. Durazno^2 is showing the thumbsticks and triggers give 100% output even when only pressed about two thirds of the way (and 0% until they are nudged significantly). So in effect, over half the thumbstick
area is not being utilised - it just goes from 0 to 60, so to speak, and the same goes for the triggers, which makes the controls too sensitive to play some games. Is this normal?

    :)

Is it normal for the thumbsticks/triggers on an Xbox 360 controller to register as fully engaged when not pressed fully?

    Kyriate,

It could be something simple like the settings in the game or you may have purchased a faulty controller. If that’s the case then you will need to contact Amazon for a replacement or return.

    Thanks for using the forums!

Is it normal for the thumbsticks/triggers on an Xbox 360 controller to register as fully engaged when not pressed fully?

Sorry maybe I wasn't clear - this is an issue with moving the thumbsticks side to side, not pressing down on them like a button

Is it normal for the thumbsticks/triggers on an Xbox 360 controller to register as fully engaged when not pressed fully?

It may be due to Dead Zone (Which is a setting in most games) which makes it to where the less you put it down, the less push you need to imput into the trigger for a action to occur

In Conclusion, Its very normal to have this happen
I think sometimes it's due to the dead zone...
Thanks for the replies guys. I have played around with the deadzones but unfortunately setting them any higher than 0% only exacerbates the issue. I think the main problem is what happens towards the edges, not the centres, if you see what I mean

I don't think it can be the game cos it's the same with every application, but I'll look into getting a replacement. Cheers!
