    I'm sure most of can agree that typing on Xbox using just the controller sucks. It's slow, and it just "doesn't feel right".

    I used to be able to use the Xbox Console Companion app on Windows 10 and the Xbox app on Android to be able to type on my Xbox console. It made communicating with others a lot easier.

    I quit gaming for about 2-3 months, and I noticed that there is now a new Xbox app on Windows 10 accessible through the Windows store. The new Xbox app for Windows 10, the Xbox Console Companion app on Windows 10, and the Xbox app for Android all don't seem to allow me to type on my Xbox console using the device's keyboard.

    Why is this? Am I missing something, or did they remove this valuable function from all of the Xbox apps? What are my options for quickly typing on Xbox?

    Hi,

    It's possible you may have a hardware fault with the console's blu-ray drive. It's a high possibility that laser that is used to read DVD discs is no longer functional.

    Do Xbox One discs still work? Have you tried playing a a DVD movie disc on your console?

    Amazon stopped supporting its app on Xbox 360 and removed the app from the store. It is no longer possible to download the app to the console.

    The Xbox Console Companion app does not work with the Xbox 360, it only works with the Xbox One. If you are using the Xbox 360 smartglass app, that is no longer supported and no longer works with the Xbox 360.

    Xbox console campanion app states it no longer supports services on the app, and directs me to the xbox app. There are no network settings on the Xbox app.

    I dont know if that is possible on the xbox app or on the console it self but you can go to gamedvr.com, type in your gamertag and you will be able to see all your clips, screenshots, and more.
