    I live in indonesia, and xbox is still not unnoficial and unsuported by microsoft (or goverment idk).

    I just bought xbox series s from local marketplace, and my xbox purchase is legal because the seller say they get it from distributor and i supposed they pay tax to enter to indonesia and its legal. So my xbox is just a console that imported from other country, because its not official in my country.

    Since my country not supported by xbox, so i can set the region to my country. So i choose to set my region to nearest country which is singapore, so i can play my xbox (still using free games).

    My question is, is it legal to set region to singapore (the nearest country from indonesia) so i can buy games, and access xbox game pass (no fraud, cheating, or piracy because i buy the game with my money and not stealing peoples money).

    Is it legal considering the country i live that is xbox is still not official and not supported by microsoft or goverment?

    There's no exceptions for this, and depending on your country laws yes, could be illegal

    So it means illegal to use different region because against the term of use and just because i live in the country that not listed in region by xbox?

    Even its the nearest country from my country?

    Is there any tolerancy for xbox user who doesn’t leave in xbox region from microsoft?

    I just want the prove if its legal or not. Hopefully some words by microsoft teams so i can live peacfully

    If its illegal, i’d rather sell my xbox and buy another console that official and legal in my country.

    Hopefuly one day xbox can be official in indonesia.

    Locked Region & Giftcards

    Since you're in an unsupported region, you would have to try purchasing from another retailer. However, Indonesia is also not supported, so it's not guaranteed any gift cards will work for them.
